New information in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case that I have not seen reported elsewhere: in a filing last month, DOJ produced a transcript of an immigration court hearing from May 2019 where Mr. Abrego Garcia agreed to have his native El Salvador be designated as his country of removal. When asked if he feared persecution or torture in El Salvador, he said merely that he "would have fear about what they're accusing me of, belonging to a gang." This is a remarkably different story than the one his new lawyers told a different immigration judge later that year, when they said that he had fear of being persecuted because a gang had extorted his mother's pupusa shop. Yet more evidence that Mr. Abrego Garcia lied repeatedly under oath in order to avoid deportation.

In 2019, two conservative activists in Portland, Joey Gibson and Russel Schultz, were prosecuted for felony rioting after they were attacked at Antifa pub Cider Riot at a Rose City Antifa event. (I was assaulted for recording the street riot by Antifa. No one was arrested, and leftist Antifa liars in the media falsely said I was party to rioting.) Leftists encouraged and celebrated the prosecution. Years later, at trial in Portland, the two were acquitted mid-trial by the judge who found the case too meritless to continue. (This is rare.) Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that Gibson and Schultz have standing to sue former Deputy District Attorney Brad Kalbaugh and Multnomah County for allegedly filing false sworn affidavits to secure warrants that led to the arrest and prosecution. (Kalbaugh now works as an assistant attorney general for @AGDanRayfield.)
