@goatflake @chriseparent @TheProjectUnity What soil? The pyramids were build directly on bedrock. No sand. No dirt. Cut stones set on leveled bedrock. Rock on rock. You don’t need piers/caissons for that.

@NowDaz @TheProjectUnity Depends on many things; soil conditions, weight of structure, and surface area bring “pressed” on soil. It’s remarkable that a structure of this size barely settles especially since it’s on sand. Even more especially since it’s survived through many changes in biome

@EBBLexington @chriseparent @TheProjectUnity False, if there’s soil between structure and bedrock any displacement of soil could ruin structure. That’s why large structures drill piles all the way to bedrock.

@TheProjectUnity Any civil engineer would said this looks like large piles, which are used in structures today (sky scrapers) to slow down/allow for even settlement
