@wiseconnector I attended a private academy. There was a dress code. Girls' obsession with dress was over the top. If caught wearing the same dress IN THE SAME MONTH comments were made. Finally, in my senior year, I picked out an outfit and wore it every day. Got called into office!

@WoodsDarle82534 Greed and love do not exist in the same sphere. In some way, opposites. If a woman wouldn't be happy sharing a simple picnic with this man in order just to chat then nothing is really there. But, then, he believes there is no such woman in the world. Beliefs create reality.

Biden didn't destroy the Rose Garden. He rebuilt the economy, created over 15 million jobs, cut the deficit, lowered insulin costs, and passed historic climate & infrastructure bills. His conscience is clear and so is his record. Do you agree with me? Yes Or No

We're supposed to feel bad when government employees are laid off. Nobody says much when private sector employees are laid off. Now why is that? (Rhetorical question, I already know the answer: Because government jobs = power.)

@CynicalPublius Bill Clinton deregulated nonprofits. No regulations. No oversight. No accountability. I say this is the most destructive force in the world today. And Trump does nothing about it.

Each passing day reveals more and more and more how we have all been paying for our own demise, as our tax dollars have been funding NGOs peddling extra-constitutional policies and activities that the electorate had otherwise rejected. The SPLC is just the most prominent organization peddling hate-4-dollars. Their entire network of supported NGOs is in on it too. How did this happen? Did somebody have a good idea in a meeting decades ago: “Hey, let’s control America by moving our activities in an unaccountable way to unelected, non-governmental organizations, but let’s still pay ourselves with tax dollars!” Or was this some sort of unspoken conspiracy between like minded individuals?

Elon Musk just declared war on the oldest enemy in human history. Not a nation. Not an ideology. Scarcity. For ten thousand years, every war, every empire, every revolution traces back to the same root. Not enough. Not enough food. Not enough land. Not enough labor. Not enough energy. Every political system ever built was a different strategy for dividing a pie that was never big enough. Capitalism. Communism. Socialism. Different answers to the same question, who eats when the table runs short. Musk: “Tesla is obviously about sustainable technology, and at this point, we’ve added sustainable abundance to our mission.” Sustainable abundance. Two words that contradict everything economics has taught for 250 years. The entire discipline was founded on the study of scarce resources. Adam Smith. Ricardo. Keynes. Marx. Every one of them took scarcity as a law of nature. Musk is treating it as a temporary engineering problem. Musk: “People often talk about solving global poverty, or how to give everyone a very high standard of living. I think the only way to do this is AI and robotics.” Politicians have promised to end poverty since the French Revolution. Not one has come close. Because you cannot redistribute your way out of scarcity. You can move the shortage around. You can rename it. You can subsidize it. You cannot legislate it out of existence. But you can engineer it out of existence. When an autonomous robot can mine the lithium, build the solar array, wire the factory, and assemble the product for nothing but sunlight and software, the cost of labor approaches zero. When labor hits zero, goods follow. When goods hit zero, poverty has no mechanism left to survive. This is not philanthropy. This is not policy. This is physics. The assumption behind modern civilization is that a decent life requires decades of grinding labor. That was never a law of nature. It was a limitation of our tools. Every government that ever tried to solve poverty was treating a symptom. Musk is deleting the disease. Every empire that ever rose did so by controlling scarcity. Every empire that ever fell did so because scarcity won. The civilization taking shape right now will be the first in history built not on managing scarcity, but on eliminating it. Poverty will not be ended by a speech, a summit, or a tax code. It will be engineered into extinction.

I am literally shaking. Some teenager threw a rock off an overpass and did this to my truck. I caught him, and his dad had the nerve to say, "He’s just a kid being a kid, I’ll give you $50 for the 'inconvenience'." $50?? This is a specialized windshield with sensors! He told me I was "ruining a child’s future" by calling the police. I feel like he’s raising a criminal and expects me to pay for it. Do I press full charges?

What's odd and a somewhat disappointing about Pope Leo's response here is that he diminishes the importance of sexual morality, saying there are "much larger and more important issues--such as justice, equality, the freedom of men and women, and religious freedom." Setting aside that sexual morality affects these "larger issues" (especially as they concern the family), the specific question he's responding to here concerns the German bishops' blessing of same-sex couples, which he says the Holy See disagrees with, and that disagreement has been communicated to the German bishops. So in Germany, the question of sexual morality, and specifically that of gay couples, is important enough that the German bishops are risking schism with Rome over it, and indeed are right now in open rebellion! On that basis alone, it would seem that sexual morality is indeed one of the most important issues facing the Catholic Church today, and it would be helpful if the pope's comments reflected that reality.
Michael Haynes 🇻🇦@MLJHaynes

JUST IN: Pope Leo XIV responds to Cardinal Marx — Says Vatican does not approve blessing of same sex couples. Adds a blessing can be given to “all people” like at the end of Mass. Leo states—— “First of all, I believe it is very important to understand that the unity or division of the Church should not revolve around sexual issues. We tend to think that when the Church speaks of morality, the only moral issue is a sexual one. In reality, I believe there are much larger and more important issues—such as justice, equality, the freedom of men and women, and religious freedom—that should take priority over that particular issue. The Holy See has already spoken with the German bishops. The Holy See has made it clear that we do not agree with the formal blessing of couples—in this case, same-sex couples, as you requested—or of couples in irregular situations, beyond what Pope Francis has specifically permitted by saying that all people should receive the blessing. When a priest gives the blessing at the end of Mass, when the Pope gives the blessing at the end of a great celebration like the one we had today, there are blessings for all people. Francis’s famous expression, “everyone, everyone, everyone,” expresses the Church’s conviction that everyone is welcomed, everyone is invited, everyone is invited to follow Jesus, and everyone is invited to seek conversion in their own lives. To go beyond this today, I believe, could cause more disunity than unity, and that we should seek to build our unity on Jesus Christ and on what Jesus Christ teaches. This is my answer to the question.
