I've worked professionally for ~15 years in Latin American and the US (food processing plants, regional office centers, global HQs) and have seen a few things related to the work place. - You are replaceable: It's true that you are a line in a spreadsheet. If costs get too high, you are out. Big manufacturing companies are looking for ways to reduce costs (@BowTiedBull has said this), and they do this through process automation. Humans are costly, and they can also get hurt; machines just need maintenance. No wonder now you see more and more machines doing the work of humans in stores, factories, tolls, banks, fast food restaurants. - The older you are, the worse if you are an employee: If you are in LatAm, by the time you are 50 yrs old you are generally an expensive employee and the company wants to get rid of you. Ageism is worse in LatAm than the US, e.g. I was once an intern in the global HQ of a US company sitting at an executive meeting, everyone had white hair. You're less likely to see that in LatAm. The problem is, once you're out it's gonna be hard for you to find a new job that pays as well, unless you are extremely well connected (elite social peers). This applies to Directors, VPs, General Managers. I have a couple of stories like this. And in very few cases going back to school for an Executive MBA helps. - Companies are after their own interest, not yours: Big, international companies usually have manufacturing operations in cheaper countries (Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua), and business centers in places where labor is more qualified (Costa Rica). The latter is changing as more people everywhere speak English. My cousin was told this month that he's getting laid off from Mondelez Costa Rica in September (works in HR) because they're moving that dept to Argentina (way cheaper atm). - Plan ahead: Your plan should be to create your own company/income sources and have a solid plan by the time you're 40 or 50 yrs old, so you have your own income streams and don't depend on (1) an employer who doesn't like you and wants to squeeze more labor for less money, (2) a govt who hates you and wants to charge ever more taxes coupled with inflation--stealing your savings, and (3) an aging body that requires more care and deserves to enjoy the fruit of your labors. Remote work, Wifi money, even a brick and mortar store could work. The sooner you start the better. @MyLatinLife is right about this, as LatAm is an exceptional place to achieve USD earnings in a cheaper place. not for everyone, but many ppl are making it $$$. @Geologo_trader is one of the obvious ones, but there are many hidden. My point is, it's not impossible. x.com/Geologo_Trader…

@byjackwaters I'm using Evernote since 2010. They had improved it recently. And I'm being super happy about it. About 2 years ago I was seriously thinking of switching to something else. I have it on my Mac and iPhone

@LeroyterBraak Yeah, Avata can hover like a regular cinematic drone, that’s helpful if you’re a beginner

@goroshnikov Yeah! Actually had an FPV radio controller as well to learn a bit, in the simulator I did pretty well. Then I got my first real FPV drone and I wrecked it on the first flight.. lol. This one looks a bit more beginner-friendly, though!

@TuckerCarlson The biggest takeaway, create a alternative to Google and Apple. He and @elonmusk should join forces and come up with a new smartphone and operating system where apps like @X and @telegram don’t risk being taken down.

@TuckerCarlson These are just a few examples from RT Telegram channels banned in the US. Pavel Durov can say whatever he wants about not following the Russian government requests but he really is that obedient with the US and the EU. He is just like Zuckerberg with a better PR.
