Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

I did not know that the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. were the same hours when lambs were sacrificed in the temple every day. Jesus, the true Lamb of God, was lifted up and died right on God’s perfect schedule. Jesus carried everything that could keep us from God—our sin, our shame, and our guilt. He did this because of His great love for us. He stood in our place so we could be forgiven. Then He said, “It is finished.” These three words meant everything. In the original Greek this word is “Tetelestai,” which means the debt is paid in full. Sin no longer holds us. Because of what Jesus did, we can now live in the freedom His sacrifice purchased and enjoy closeness with God. God had to reveal something important in this tragedy—His great love and the way to forgiveness. Today take time and reflect on all of the suffering that God went through for you. Today is a good reminder that only through pain and suffering do we actually grow, increase our faith, and mature. Growth comes when we push through hard times, because there is no real gain without some pain. Because of Jesus and His finished work on the cross, your pain is never wasted. Let His sacrifice give you fresh strength and hope today to keep growing closer to God and becoming more like Him.

Been researching DC juries this morning. Did you know that DC has a specific school curriculum which is mandatory from 6th to 12th grade which trains them in civic participation including juries? Students are taught how to look past the actual crime and evaluate all charges through "root causes" and equity. There's no chance of a favorable conviction in DC.

You are not “resisting” Trump. You are not “resisting” Cabinet secretaries (Pete Hegseth, e.g.) You are not “resisting” a policy you find politically unpalatable. NO. I think a lot of people get confused when Trump signs an EO that everybody knows will get challenged in court. It’s kind of his way of doing what Democrats have done for decades. Democrats would coordinate with NGOs to bring suits along certain Democrat-preferred ideological lines, and then a Democrat DOJ would weakly defend the case. This is how Democrats used the Courts to basically erase many of the Constitutional powers of Congress. Trump has stood that practice on its head by signing EOs that reflect the 80% side of 80/20 issues, knowing full well that Democrats will sue. He FORCES Democrats to vocally defend the 20% issues. He shifts the Overton Window in his favor. He doesn’t care if he loses in some blue district court. He wants to ride the issue hard all the way to SCOTUS. He might win. He might not. But either way he forces Democrats to admit “We’re the Baddies."
