@latsondheimer I love hearing your political takes. It makes me laugh so hard that someone actually thinks this is true

You can do lots of things to Californians, but trying to take away our ability to mail in a ballot is not going to happen. EVER. It's the most convenient, most accurate, smartest way to run an election despite what some dictator in Russia says.

@kurt13warner I’d also argue that defenses have become more complex and the rise of field progressions on offense vs coverage reads has also led to poorer reading by qbs

It really is incredible the # of QBs that seem to be looking at their 1st read & trying to jam it in if there is any space at all… dropback, stare down #1 & throw it really hard at them!! I’m amazed that guys can get to highest level doing this over and over??? I have to believe I’m missing something, but through my eyes there are so many open guys on simple plays if you just read it (based on my thought process) out & let the defense dictate the throw! Someone IN THE KNOW talk to me about what I’m seeing?

@kurt13warner I believe this trend started when teams started going no huddle and tried to call everything from the sideline based on the defense showing their hand, it was further complicated by the desire to have more athletic qbs running at the position rather than reading and throwing.

@kurt13warner Spot on Kurt! To synchronize all of the things mentioned in your post, there is a lot of investment in a play with a 3 way go to call it 1-3 times a game.

Coaches, something to consider! Of all the throws I’ve missed in my career the highest % are BY FAR on “choice” routes (Especially those that have 3 way reads)! Why?? 1) Bc the QB doesn’t know where to start his EYES when he doesn’t know for sure where a WR is going 2) Feet get messed up often when QB assumes something the WR doesn’t do and they don’t have time to reset to make throw 3) QBs can’t play as confidently, bc even if we think we know, we still have a bit of hesitation in us so we can try and see what WR is doing 4) it takes a lot of anticipation out of game so it can lead to mechanics being sped up once WR makes decision

@latsondheimer Another emotional and irrational post from you Eric. Just bad. Again, rationalizing illegal behavior or illegally being here. This time because the son plays football? Be a citizen… pay the taxes like everyone else. Clearly they’ve been here long enough to have HS age son

A high school football player in Los Angeles told me he didn't know if his mother would be able to watch him play this season because of fears from ICE. This is real. latimes.com/sports/highsch…

@RealCoachLackey @stanbedwell A spot and flat and a stick flat are not curl flats. They both work horizontal flat coverage which when a Mike pushes shuts it down. The concepts are stick and y corner. Neither of those include a curl. Look at the simplified notes of where to go with the ball. It’s opposite

@latsondheimer Man your political takes suck Eric. I wish you stayed with sports only. Your emotional and non rational takes are just pathetic. Rationalizing illegally being in the country or illegal behavior in general with just trying to feed their family is horrible.

If you were to name this 3 man route concept at the goal-line, what are you calling it?

@CoachSCDub Absolutely. The difference is the swing is running to flat space where the hitch is occupying. In your recent post with the out, the rb is on a dump or could be on an angle route so that he doesn’t occupy the space of the out. Either way love the screen and go on cross!

@coach_hark @stanbedwell @DrewCPiscopo @OneBackOff @coachbronk Why describe it as a read when looking at your players? Reads are for defense… and snag is super simple. Corner pre and post snap will eliminate one of the throws to get you to the other two : corner bails/ soft - flat to snag Corner in man - corner to flat Cloud- corner -snag

@kurt13warner Probably no bigger “pure progression” play than Y Cross and yet there are still reads/ alerts and adjustments based on coverages that go into that play to make it successful. Would love for you to show a (no adjust/ key read) pure progression play where the above doesn’t happen

I really DISLIKE pure progression plays… I just don’t feel you can be consistent & quick enough mentally playing the QB position if you’re not “reading” defenders!!! #TellMeWhyImWrong?

@lesfifita Great take Les! Embarrassing day yesterday with what was seen in college football. It’s more important to clown others than show respect. It’s a disgrace and coaches have to start holding their players and programs to a higher standard. Next gen is watching! Do better

We live in a culture where the more disrespectful you are, the more views and likes you get. The sad part is that young people see this behavior and try to emulate it, creating a trickle-down effect. Eventually, it becomes the norm in our society. Respect isn't just for you; it's for those around you and is the ultimate display of self-love and humility. I used to hate celebrations or any signs of them, but I've grown and changed with the times. Now, I allow our kids to celebrate with each other, as long as they're not disrespecting the other team. That’s why culture and having a standard is so important in all facets of our life, not just football. 🥤🥤🥤

@kurt13warner @kurt13warner Do you have an example of this pure progression so I can truly agree or disagree with your premise! In any pure progression play that I know of… reads are part of quickly getting through progression by eliminating what won’t be there by pre and post snap analysis

It’s MONDAY so… I HATE PURE PROGRESSION plays, it’s killing QBs or it’s hurting teams if it’s all a QB can do!! Relies so often on OC calling perfect play at the perfect time or the QB to have all the time in world to work through different timing of routes!!! IMO We gotta give QBs a better chance by teaching them what & who they need to read on each play so they can play faster & to play at NFL level you just have to be able to do it to some degree!!
