@IterIntellectus I have literally never heard a man complain about women being picky. You wrote this post trying to pretend that is a thing. It's a made up thing on the internet.

men who complain about women being picky never seem to ask the obvious question: when did they stop being worth picking? testosterone declining for decades. obesity epidemic. purpose replaced by consumption. men retreating into screens, into "looksmaxxing" (gay), into porn, into coping mechanisms dressed up as philosophies. and then surprise when women respond to what's actually in front of them the complaint tells you everything. a man worth choosing doesn't spend energy resenting the criteria.

@thetrocro And... what makes OG's the source of truth? Because they "got there early"? Bitcoin is a better bet now than it was ten years ago. Getting there early, into an asset that was not at all established, was highly speculative.

OG dumping is telling the market that bitcoin is NOT different. It is just an IPO. The OGs don’t believe in bitcoin’s future, actually. You’re supposed to, though.

@FieldNas What the OG's owned was an asset susceptible to Core corruption. The conclusion of this war will be the nullification of Core.... one weakness less for Bitcoin.

@neatprompts Unfortunately, most "open loops" are not at all open but, rather, exceptionally hidden.

The Bitcoin Inscription War has showcased Bitcoin's anti-fragility. You can observe in real time the process by which those humans concerned with capital preservation identify and root out problems. It's clear that even in the case of a hard fork, Bitcoin would emerge stronger -- in this particular case, without CSAM and without enlarged OP Return. Not unlikely that there will be near term volatility from this tumult, but it's already clear that the battle has been won, as the weakness has been identified and a path to solving it is in motion.

@dgt10011 It needs to offer hope for people with money, that they should convert their money so as to retain it. Once people have money, they will search for it. If the young have no money, then they don't need to worry about it.

One worrying trend is that Bitcoin is losing young people. The same young people that are voting for Mamdani. This is the existential risk that people are not connecting, but soon will. Bitcoin must offer hope for the young, not the old.

@LukeDashjr @notgrubles ah I see... so the only reason this is a real threat is because the Core brand will dupe some unsuspecting users into upgrading

The Pirate Bay, a website, survived despite literally existing to help distribute pirated content. And we are to believe that Bitcoin will die if someone uploads illegal content to it. It's comedy.

@LukeDashjr @notgrubles I guess my question is ... why does it matter that Core did this if the attack vector could have been taken by any other implementation?

If this op return expansion is such a risk, then why did it take until 2025 for someone (in this case the reference protocol) to make this attack? Couldn't any random Joe have created a new implementation ... call it "Bitcoin Dust" ... gradually distribute it, and use the same attack vector?

Elon Musk@elonmusk

@zerohedge True. That is why Bitcoin is based on energy: you can issue fake fiat currency, and every government in history has done so, but it is impossible to fake energy.

@LenPenzo @zerohedge Gold is old but that does not mean it has utility, beyond speculation, in an actual meltdown. Good luck exchanging your gold bullion during a meltdown.

@zerohedge Really? VanEck makes this claim even though bitcoin hasn't even been tested by a meltdown of the fiat currency system yet. Gold is a proven monetary system safe haven; bitcoin is an unproven highly-speculative asset which is pretending to be one.

Conversational AI for Analytics (using LLMs) is no different than SQL for Analytics. Both are conversational. Both require the mental framework to rotate data. We cannot escape the need for analytical thinking by simply changing the syntax.
