@JoelHodlman @bariksis Just a little house keeping here. It's not the 4 year cycle, it's the halving cycle and it's exactly not dead. if we don't bottom in October then your opinion is correct. Until then it's objectively perfectly on track.
With affection,
Hammond.

@JohnCornyn @statesman This level of cope is embarrassing. You fucked up, now you lose your job for it. You worked for us, collect your check and get the hell out.

Dump it until whatever this is is purged.

The most interesting story in Bitcoin right now is the rise of $SATA in the credit markets and the embrace of $ASST by the equity capital markets.

What did I get for my sats?
I think the most attractive aspect about this setup to most bitcoiners is the non-KYC bitcoin. A premium of about 5% is expected to obtain non-KYC sats if you are buying on the market. I spent 4.73% for mine. Not bad.
That may actually be closer to 5.5% when accounting for the spread I paid when I bought the KYC sats on an exchange initially.
But I also got much more than that. I mobilized an average of 13.35 PH/s for the last month to process the block templates I created with DATUM.
To put that in perspective that is 57 S21 Pro miners, 142 Canaan Q working at the highest setting, or 11,125 Bitaxe Gammas.
By routing this hash through my @BitcoinKnots + BIP110 node I have created a 26.7 PH/s swing in the network from not signaling to signaling for BIP110.
This also increases the economic power of my node by not only sending, receiving, and validating my own transactions but also by participating in the mining ecosystem in a not insignificant way.
Renting hash in this way is a proof of concept for a solution to the Bitcoin security budget concern. Once bitcoiners start understanding the Bitcoin protocol as a utility to be maintained and not a lotto ticket they will pay a premium to keep the hashers working and honest.
Finally, by pulling this hash away from one of the big five pools and directing it through my own DATUM pool working in a federation with many other DATUM pools at @ocean_mining I have contributed to mining decentralization where it matters most today: block template construction and hashrate concentration.

@chris_athanasia @HaroldWren22 'Trust' cannot be found in the lexicon of Islam.
English

@HaroldWren22 I think (a) you're right, but (b) this administration knows that at like a "no shit, sherlock" level and will only enter a carrot/stick, step by step agreement, where compliance is verified and trust/benefits are earned.

I have reservations about whether the Iranian regime can & will live up to an agreement that involves giving up their enrichment & HEU. I’m concerned we will enter a deal in good faith & the snakes in the regime will stall & ultimately back out of it thinking we’ll just keep negotiating.
I’m curious what you all think. Lets take a poll.
English

@spoonmvn For now, in the US, I'm getting away with it. 100mph all day long, and google warns me if a stubby tatted-up beta millennial yes-man police-man is up ahead.
I didn't mean to rub it in. Course I think it will be what you describe very soon.

Was just thinking about how everything I love to do is going away.
Driving is one of the last areas of my life where I feel free.
Nowadays I usually sit at max penalty points, as police cars have become long distance AI surveillance.
Not to mention surveillance in the car.

You don’t have to drive anymore

If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution.
This combination of Iran being perceived as having the ability to terrorize the Strait in perpetuity and the ability the inflict massive damage to Gulf oil infrastructure is a major shift of the balance of power in the region and over time will be a nightmare for Israel.
Also, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with if these perceptions are accurate. I personally am a skeptic of the idea that Iran cannot be denied the ability to terrorize the Strait and the region cannot protect itself against Iranian military capability.
It is important we get this right.

@TheBritLad Yes, because the keyboard + interweb is more powerful than the fist. And they know this, and that is why. You're welcome.

The US and Iran are expected to announce the finalization of a peace deal by Sunday afternoon to end fighting on all fronts, The Washington Times reported citing a source close to the negotiations.
A draft proposal was agreed early Saturday and sent to leaders in both countries for final approval, according to the report.
The Washington Times reported that top negotiators, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, JD Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, had already approved the draft.
