Hammer and Vajra@HammerandVajra
What are you doing?
What are you accomplishing?
What are your deeds?
I don’t care if your group had a falling out with the @FolkAsatru , or if you had bad blood with the Irminfolk, @Norroena , @Tom_Rowsell (STJ) offended you, @TheGloriousLion is too Nationalistic for you, @opwwofficial outlifts you, @Sagnamadr knows more about Odin than you do, or I if am too Buddhist and Esoteric for you. (Hell a lot of those mentioned here don't always agree).
I don’t care if you think previous “folk” centered founders and pioneers were too “occultic”.
I don’t care if you don’t believe in Indo-European connections or any intercultural and spiritual understanding. I don’t care if you think Rune interpretations, Seidr, and Galdr, or other practices are too “magical”. Or if you think meditation and certain theological concepts are too “Eastern”.
I don’t care if you think Thor or Tyr are the primary God you should be worshipping for your group.
If you are accomplishing deeds to benefit your community, revere your ancestors, and worship the Gods, we might not see eye to eye, but you have at least my nominal support.
Your opinions and choices aren’t going to affect belief.
However, if you think “revival” means sowing discord, spreading slander, and causing division.
If you see another group getting praise or growing, and your thoughts aren’t “good for them that means more people coming to Heathenry, then maybe you are the problem.
Gatekeeping is necessary, and those who spread actual falsehoods, lies, blasphemy, or mistruths about the lore and theology to promote wrong interpretation for an agenda, obviously, should be called out and kept out.
Debates are debates, and some healthy debating is good.
Disagreements between people and Clans are inevitable, but it's best to focus on unity and growing some numbers before you tear down growth.
Every one of us should be looking at our deeds and accomplishments.
Have we improved today?
Are we closer to our ancestors, Gods, and their Wisdom today?
Do we feel spiritually sound?
Have our actions emboldened and strengthened our community?
This goes for non-European Pagan groups as well. Those of a Dharmic persuasion who try to have sectarian wars and philosophical schisms.
