These massive 13.2m Herrenknecht Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) with giant cutter heads will bore silently as deep as 23m under the hills of SGNP in Mumbai to build a 11.8 km classy road tunnel that will take one from Thane to Borivali in 15 min flat. Just for the record, I was allowed to carry it. Unpopular opinion: I don’t really mind being called out by security for extra checks. Yes, it’s mildly annoying to be pulled aside. But think about their job - they scan hundreds of bags, day in and day out. It’s a thankless job. Even they’d probably much rather just watch the X-ray and sip their tea. But they don’t have that luxury - one miss can have serious consequences. So if something looks suspicious, strange, or bizarre (yes, even a miniature elephant), calling it out isn’t overkill - they’re just doing their job responsibly. I appreciated that they laughed it off - and was glad I could add a brief moment of joy to stressful lives. 🙏

Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. The Versova-Dahisar-Bhayander Coastal Road will connect with the under-construction Bandra-Versova Savarkar Sea Link on one side and the upcoming Uttan-Virar Sea Link on the other. The upcoming Versova-Madh bridge will also connect directly with Versova-Bhayander Coastal Road. Here's how the various interchanges of the upcoming Versova-Bhayander Coastal Road project would look like. Construction of this project has already begun.
