Mereka gabisa bikin lowongan
Indonesia

@hidrokarbone @hadimaster65555 Ane penasaran yg didorong sama pemerintah duluan itu mhsnya dulu buat masuk stem atau ekosistem usaha dan lapangan pekerjaannya STEM dulu. Kalau harusnya bareng, gw masih belum lihat ada usah buat nyiptain lebih banyak peluang kerja di stem yg didorong pemerintah soalnya

"Pas kuliah di ITB..."
Stop right there

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton Im seriously considering you just havent engaged with the material of the ideology you support. Are you dense? You don’t see the connection between a planned economy and socialism?
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton What??? Is your understanding of socialism only the slogan “workers own the means of production!!” so you don’t read the communist manifesto like, at all? Socialism is defined as a planned economy…
English

Communist here.
Literally built 3 businesses from the ground up and turned 2 of them into worker co-ops. Both co-ops are wildly successful w/o exploiting a single person and drive mutual prosperity & growth.
Alive Smith is a whiner that's likely never dirtied her hands ever.
Alice Smith@TheAliceSmith
Socialists can’t get their hands dirty creating wealth because those hands are too busy picking other people’s pockets.
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton And you showed me a misunderstanding of what a planned economy looks like. Goddamn man…
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton Then you took a non-sequitur to China’s economy, pointing out that it’s a planned economy. I countered that ever since Deng’s reforms their economies are markets too, and the five year plans are more broad targets and regulations rather than exact output orders by the state. —
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton If you really want to see what a planned economy looks like, with real five year plans that tell factories exactly what and how much to produce, you’ll have to look at China’s Mao Era.
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton I’m not trying to pivot and deflect. What, you think a planned economy means the state enacting regulations and incentives towards certain behavior that the state prefers? I told you at the beginning of my reply, that’s not what a planned economy means…
English

@reimufan099 Lowkey me but i am also an artist (but obviously the good kind 😹)
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton If you think this is what a planned economy means then you just haven’t done enough reading. Also; private firms contribute approximately 60% of China’s GDP, 70% of its innovative capacity, 80% of urban employment, and 90% of new jobs.

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton BUSINESS OPERATE IN AN ECONOMY YOU RETARD… the dude’s businesses only succeeded because it operated within a market framework in the first place. How they run is irrelevant. In a planned economy you can’t partake in entrepreneurship by definition.
English

@hidrokarbone @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton If we are talking about a guy's business, why the fuck are you talking about a planned economy? Do businesses plan economies where you are from?
English

@HumanHarlan Telling models to do something =/= deliberately modifying which neurons fire. Models don’t have metacognition; they don’t have access to their own weights. Models are proven to be able to lie. You can tell a model to be calm but the internal state can still be that of anger.
English

I'm confused about what Anthropic comms is doing here.
LLMs internally represent the concepts of different emotions? LLMs act as if they have emotions? Of course they do! It's an important pattern in the training data.
We already know that AI systems roleplay as people, so why is this result being treated as so important? For this announcement, they spent extra effort to try to reach the general population outside of twitter, by creating a nice video and putting it on Youtube.
And the result is very easy to misinterpret. For one thing, people might come away from it thinking it means something big for our ability to steer model behavior. But it seems like they could have achieved similar changes in behavior from simply giving the model prompts like “act desperately” or “act calmly.”
Another way that people will predictably misinterpret this is as strong evidence that LLMs are conscious and have an experience of feeling emotions. But it’s not new information that LLMs roleplay humanlike characters, and I don’t see why them having internal representations of emotions should be more surprising than the fact that they have an internal representations of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Please tell me if I’m missing something crucial! But this seems like spending extra effort to tell the public about a research result that isn’t very surprising and also is very easy to misinterpret.
Anthropic@AnthropicAI
New Anthropic research: Emotion concepts and their function in a large language model. All LLMs sometimes act like they have emotions. But why? We found internal representations of emotion concepts that can drive Claude’s behavior, sometimes in surprising ways.

China lifted 800 million people out of poverty not through communism but by creating Special Economic Zones where capitalism was allowed to function.
Shenzhen went from a fishing village to a megacity because the government said "in this specific area, you can build freely.”
That should tell you something about what works and what doesn't.
Even the world's largest communist country had to let capitalism in through the back door to feed its people.

English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton They still operate in a market framework, with prices set freely by supply and demand. The state does not control exactly what and how many to produce.
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton Who the hell is talking about China? We’re talking about this guy’s business. Also are you seriously saying Deng’s extensive market reforms were a form of planned economy? Also, the five year plans they have are less about what exactly to produce but more like broad targets. —
English

@Tildiditagain @RockChartrand @WadeTPaton Socialism in practice? Doesn’t traditional socialism (in the marxist leninist sense) require a planned economy? This is not a planned economy at all. This is a business operating in a market framework, with working price signals. How the business runs changes nothing.
English

@RockChartrand @WadeTPaton There is no such thing in the world as "communism in practice."
What does exist is "socialism in practice," which is exactly what the OP did.
"Under actual communism"
That's not a thing. If you knew what communism is, you'd know why.
English

@WadeTPaton you’re literally succeeding because you’re in a capitalist system with working price signals 😹 you’re not applying socialism here dumbass, and the fact that you needed to build the businesses first before turning them into coops is oxymoronic, you cant do that in socialism
English

@hadimaster65555 @03_davie ada yg salah kah dari pembacaannya? Ni gw copas, verbatim dari bab conclusion papernya…
“this study finds that university graduates from social sciences and
humanities disciplines tend to experience a more significant decline in earnings compared to graduates from STEM”
salah?
