Really appreciate LNER providing this handy layout to the bogs, like they’re selling it on Zoopla or the SAS plan on storming it or something.

@SchoolsWeek Further evidence that the system needs reform. Time to create some new form of local coordination and accountability that protects the interests of children and families. @bphillipsonMP @EduFabians

@lokiscottishrap I’m on my way to Brixton to talk about my chapter in R . Race’s book on multicultural education. My mum’ knitting group seemed fascinated by my title, Is Multicultural Education Deep Enough or Wide Enough. I couldn’t get away. Hope gathering I’m to talk to will be as fascinated.

Another day, another crazy behaviour policy. Seen a school that, when a student misbehaves, has a script for the teachers to use, asking questions to the student like ‘how do you feel?’ Etc. As the default response, instead of boundaries, mild sanctions etc. This is a charter for mayhem.

@tombennett71 Tom, why knock restorative justice? Why not keep them IN school where they stand a chance of learning and improving? Do you want to be part of that group that doesn’t care about sustaining a criminal class? You are a hard man and not a helpful one

I wish I could unhear some of the stories I’m told every week about Scottish schools and crazy behaviour policies. One school had a boy put another in hospital…but school won’t suspend or exclude. Instead, restorative chats are the strategy. Another is caught bringing in class A drugs with intent to supply. Also: no exclusion. Why? Because the LA insists that the school does this. And insists no sanctions to be used. This is the reality facing many teachers and leaders. Enough. This cannot be allowed to carry on.

Friend works for a large well-known MAT - school is pretty chaotic & behaviour not good. Ofsted were in recently and a whole crowd of additional staff from elsewhere in the MAT were imported for two days! Why are they getting away with this?
