People agree with the @Sdphq but then complain that they don’t have enough candidates without connecting the two issues Other social conservatives suggest we should ‘get in line’ with reform/restore etc but our diagnosis on economic issues is different. We think privatisation of water and electricity has been a disaster. Real electricity prices have increased by 305% since 2005 while the water companies are happy to pay fines while pumping sewage from the ‘river to the sea’ to coin a phrase. If you think one more dose of Thatcherism is what the country is crying out for then by all means support one of these these parties. If you think we should build homes for first nation Brits as a priority, if you think we should have an integrated national rail network, if you think we should have a crash building course of British designed, British manufactured nuclear power stations then you are naturally an Sdp supporter If the Sdp didn’t exist, we would have to invent it because it represents the views of about 65% of the British population who want a sane family focused party who recognises that we need to reindustrialise our nation in order to provide security both at home and abroad

@NickLondon999 @MyArrse What would happen in Wales if something like this happened between Senedd elections? My understanding is that someone from the party list would simply move up and in. No by-election Am I right?

@MyArrse By-election called because Reform cllr was jailed Unfair to penalise the new Reform candidate for the sins of another, but that's how the public stupidly act🙄 But the REAL LESSON here is that if you vote Conservative you get the Greens A TORY VOTE IS A VOTE FOR THE FAR LEFT‼️

@Jeffrey62093861 @LloydCymru Well only the top 4 candidates for each party in each seat have a chance of winning so quite a lot of paper candidates cos just mathematically impossible for numbers 5 and 6 to win

All of the candidate lists have now been published for the Senedd election. We have 645 candidates nominated by 16 different parties plus 30 independents, for a national total of 675 candidates. 45 MSs who were sitting as of dissolution are standing for re-election.

Disappointed to say that Welsh Labour Health Secretary @Eluned_Morgan has replied and essentially said that the Welsh Government plans to do nothing to help reopen the Newport Rutherford cancer centre. Despite horrific delays, with just one in two starting treatment within target time in Wales. A target which is woefully out of date already. Welsh cancer patients waiting and waiting for treatment must look at that empty facility with astonishment. Eluned says capacity exists elsewhere in the UK for proton beam therapy, only one part of the centre's capability. That is just because it's severely rationed by the NHS, with the UK falling drastically behind international standards. Welsh cancer patients are being failed again and again. Yet we have a state-of-the-art facility rotting away in South Wales and the Government plans to do nothing about it. What a sorry state of affairs.

@NationCymru He has nothing to say about the abandoned Rutherford Canver Centre in Newport, which WG wouldn't touch even when it was stuffed with unused life-saving equipment No sign of Plaid calling for action in the press? Weird that walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-new…

This is nonsense. Most of the Consultants come from Centres of Excellence for Cancer - in England. Welsh Govt. buys their time to have clinics in Wales. Not enough money is spent to ensure equal access for Welsh people compared to English people in England. Hence the long waiting lists in Wales. Wales has a pop. of 3million we will never have enough specialists compared to England.

@GwladAlexander @LauraJ4SWEast Inward migration of the elderly is a bigger problem for Wales in that it strains NHS and social care budgets Still, nothing that Wales can do about that at present And you can't blame people for wanting to move to somewhere nice if they can afford to do so (I suppose)

I'm not pro-immigration, but there seems to be just 5 migrant hotels, 4 in Caerdydd and 1 in Casnewydd. The problems Cymru faces are not due to immigration. The only migration that is a problem in Cymru so far is the economic migrants leaving Cymru to England. We need jobs, infrastructure, money from our own recources. Vote @Gwlad_Gwlad May 7!

🤝 Thanks so much to this little #dreamteam for coming out on Easter w/end to speak to residents in Little Mill #sirfynwytorfaen. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales is being pushed to breaking point and people are fed up. ❌ While thousands of Welsh families struggle to get housing and make ends meet, the government puts everyone else first. ❌ It isn't fair. It isn't right. And it has to end. Reform UK Wales will: ➡️ Put Welsh people first in their own country. ➡️ Stop the use of migrant hotels in our communities.. ➡️ Spend our taxes in Wales where they belong. Prioritise Welsh families for social housing. THIS ISN'T EXTREME IT'S COMMON SENSE. ❌ Labour and Plaid have taken Wales for granted for decades. Ignored working people. Ignored communities. Ignored the consequences. PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP. ➡️ Vote Reform UK on May 7th 🗳️🩵 #seneddelections2026 #Wales #littlemill 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Sure! As a Welsh independence party, Gwlad's core focus is making Wales a sovereign nation via free-market enterprise, economic growth, and using Senedd powers to end reliance on London handouts—while accepting Brexit as settled and opposing mass immigration (esp. resettling illegals from England). Reform UK is a unionist, UK-wide party with no support for Welsh independence, prioritizing Westminster-led reforms on immigration, taxes, and NHS without devolved Welsh aspirations. Both lean right on borders and jobs over Net Zero, but Gwlad is Wales-first and pro-sovereignty.

@Joe___Allen The whole idea of "vote X to stop Y", and "how dare you split the vote" are IMO a travesty of what democracy should be about I support @Gwlad_Gwlad , not to stop Reform, not to split Plaid's vote - but because I support Gwlad's philosophy and policies Which are like this

Very sceptical of idea that voters should try to parse the polling data and vote tactically on notional battles for the 6th seat in every constituency. I think the only really valid approaches are: vote for your actual preference or on Ref v Plaid national vote contest.
Cavendish Cymru@CavendishCymru

This graph shows that Plaid Cymru is projected to pick up most of the 5th and 6th seats in each constituency meaning on these numbers they would most vulnerable to other parties out performing expectations in many constituencies. Most Green seats are also in this position. Reform and Labour seats are safer for the most part though they do have some vulnerable seats.

The big parties in Wales are hiring expensive communications agencies. We don’t need that!! You won’t see other candidates like this filming on their mobiles in Ceredigion. Go for it Gwyn Wigley Evans

We don't parachute people in from somewhere else. GWLAD candidates fighting for your vote know their areas like the back of their hand. They've lived in their constituencies for years. They know the issues. They know the people. Beat that gwlad.org/candidates

@Joe___Allen One argument in favour of the hereditary House of Lords is that its members had a variety of backgrounds . Even recently life peers were created not because they were party hacks but because of professional expertise and distinction. Not so much now

This is a frightening finding. And it's the same, or worse, in Wales. If you're lucky enough to meet your Lab/Plaid/Green/Tory/LD candidate canvassing for May's Senedd elections, ask them one simple question: Have you ever done a real job?

Cllr Gwyn Wigley Evans has been doing his own filming. He’s not on social media all day - he’s out and about, getting to know people and helping solve problems. Politics doesn’t have to descend into a slanging match, but that’s exactly what we’re seeing right now from Reform and Plaid, with increasingly divisive battles between left and right. Look at their campaign - then look at ours. We wanted to share these outtakes from County Councillor Gwyn filming in Ceredigion. 😊😅 Watch to the end…

Wales is a nation beset by problems Close to the bottom of any league table you care to mention - economy, wages, housing, education, health What Wales needs in Y Senedd is more problem-solvers, not more career politicians As @rorysutherland writes in @spectator today, engineering is fundamentally a problem-solving process There are currently only six engineers in the UK Parliament. In Y Senedd, very few we're sure. Yet Chinese higher officialdom has many Fortunately for Wales, four out of GWLAD's six candidates have background in engineering So if Wales wants a new approach to solving its problems - the solution is simple VOTE GWLAD spectator.com/article/why-en…

@Gwlad_Gwlad @Plaid_Cymru That's despite GWLAD being a registered, Wales-wide political party, with a comprehensive manifesto and solutions that are radically different to those of the established parties. I expect that more people in Wales would be interested if they knew

@Gwlad_Gwlad @Plaid_Cymru I'm looking forward to finding out more about this GWLAD finds it's not being invited to panel hustings (not just the big BBC/S4C ones, but local ones as well), its candidates aren't being allowed to contribute from the floor either, and low coverage in the dying media 1/2
