The 1972 outbreak was the worst since eradication, with California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas reporting screwworm-infected livestock. Texas alone confirmed 90,000 cases. The most recent outbreak was in the Florida Keys in September 2016, mostly among wild deer, and was contained by early 2017.

Trump has just destroyed the US beef industry. No country in their right mind is going to import US beef. After Trump cut funding for Screwworm monitoring programs, the dangerous flesh-eating parasite has been found in US cattle for the first time since 1966.

Donald Trump is a hack real estate developer from Queens, New York. Real estate developers know how to slap a new coating on a pool to make it look good temporarily. But they don't care about fixing underlying problems with the property. Donald Trump had the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool recoated Old Glory Blue, a good dark color which sounds good when called American Flag Blue, though not as good as Black would have been. But he did nothing to fix the algae problem. The algae problem started with the 2012 renovation. The water supply was switched from clean municipal water to Potomac River water from the Tidal Basin. Washington DC gets its water from the Potomac River, but it's treated and algae-free. Potomac River water is full of algae. A water treatment plant was installed but has failed repeatedly. The recoating did nothing to address the underlying problem of algae.
