A not so quiet, mouth-breathing member of the silent majority. Totally fed up with political legerdemain and the general bullshit floating around.

A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know… It has not “peeked” your interest. Nor has it “peaked” your interest. …It has piqued your interest. You are not “phased” by something. You are fazed by it. If you’ve had a long day, you are weary. If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary. It is “due course”, not “do course”. “Per se”, not “per say”. And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost. Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping. This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙

@JordiGriff Criticism is supposed to be good for democracy? And come on - criticising the abject failure of Steenhuisen's Agri disaster was sorely needed.

Critics of the DA having a hard time. They really struggling out there. First the DA wins a 100% black ward off the ANC in Emfuleni. Then it deploys a bomb squad reshuffle to the executive. All while Operative uGogoZille is hitting the DJ decks and fighting for Joburg. Tough.

We're looking at a petrol price drop in July 2026. But @Sixty60_Tweets is INCREASING their delivery price again like they did in 2025! So, is this going to be an annual event? Will the extra funds be used to repatriate those of their drivers that are illegal immigrants?

Pookie's Polls & Opinions
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has confirmed the removal of John Steenhuisen from his position as Minister of Agriculture, as new party leader Geordin Hill-Lewis moves to reshape the party's representation in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet. Steenhuisen, the former DA leader, has been shifted to the role of Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition. His tenure in agriculture has faced growing criticism in recent months, particularly from the Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI), which is closely aligned with the Afrikaner interest group AfriForum. He will be succeeded by Willie Aucamp, who is currently serving as Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. JOHN, YOU HAD AN OPPOPRTUNITY AND YOU MESSED IT UP. BYE.

@Mr_Andrew_Fox @The_WatcherUK @DerekPederson3 Von Clausewitz's Prussia was an absolute monarchy. He argued that war must serve a rational political objective. Expecting the fractured US political establishment to make military sense would be a bit of a reach. If he were alive today, On War would never have been written!

I’ve said before that the US military is becoming more IDF-like. Endless shows of ingenious tactical prowess with only minimal changes in the strategic situation. It’s because actual strategic victory is hard work and people don’t like it. We “won” in Iraq and everyone hated it.

Peet Viljoen was arrested at ORT tonight. It is reportedly regarding the Johannesburg Metro Properties case that he was arrested for alongside 8 other suspects - 3 suspects pleaded guilty in 2011. However the case has been dragging on for years and was removed from the roll. It seems it may be back on the roll again.

According to reports, Viljoen was deported from the United States after spending about 100 days in detention. Africa’s brightest are shunning SA because South Africans - especially officials think it’s ok to disrespect them, to exploit them, to harass them! Shame on SA. The rest of Africa welcomed South Africans with open arms during apartheid…@CyrilRamaphosa
Rashid Abdi@RAbdiAnalyst

I have stopped going to South Africa for any international conferences for mainly 3 things. 1. Border police rudeness: Some years ago I was invited for a conference on conflicts in the Horn in South Africa. I showed email invite to the border policeman at the desk. He rudely asked: "but why can't you people hold your peace conferences in your homes. Why always come to South Africa?" - I think he had a point. Why must we? Second time it was worse - "But why are you Zomallis and Ethiopians always here." I reminded him I was actually Kenyan, and I was only in the country for 2 days for an international conference Reply: "Sheh, um, eh. But what is the difference" 2. As soon as locals figure out you are a black person, possibly African from another country, the automatic assumption is that you are an illegal migrant. You see immediate hostile reaction. Honestly, I found SA one of the most miserable places on earth in terms of peoples' attitude to foreigners. The visceral hatred towards fellow Africans is unnerving. Still one of the most beautiful geographies in Africa. 3. The state bureaucracy and departments filled with people who actually know very little about the outside world. Most of the best people who made South Africa an outward-looking African power are gone. All remaining are small-time apparatchiks stealing from the state and fat toads serving as diplomats. I feel sorry for South Africa.

@tarapoconnor @CyrilRamaphosa Wow. Comparing SA citizenss demand that our government enforce existing immigration legislation, to the lads in Belfast burning down houses. Quite a reach. I'm sure your intentions are good Tara. Come spend a week or so in a SA township and see what ILLEGAL immigration is about.
