Today we talk about... #3 - #Royalties - Enforced Royalties (probably the most powerful implementation to date in the NFT industry) 🔥 One of the most craved features for #NFT #Creators is to have their Royalties enforced everywhere, regardless in what dApp their content is being used or resold, and to be managed smoothly. From the very beginning #Foton has aimed to come live with such an implementation alongside the native Radix NFTs in order to avoid the long term pitfalls met on #Ethereum and other chains, where historical collections as @BoredApeYC or @cryptopunks can't have their royalties enforced. Such endeavour has been a real challenge in terms of time and work involved, but the wait is nearly over. Packed together with the #Role Badges and #Permissions associated with them, we're confident that our implementation will give the best mix of freedom and monetisation for building sustainable IP and Brands. Without going too deep into the details, the #Royal NFT standard on Foton can be set at various hierarchy levels for items (NFTs): - Project level - Collection Level - Item Level As for the rules and format, at the top level the Royalty can be set as: - Percentage % or a... - Fixed Amount in #Radix #XRD. After this option, the following fields will pop: - Active Royalty (collected at the time of sale) - Max Royalty (limit set for the creator after mint) - Hard Limit Amount (set in XRD, mixes with Max R.) - Release Fee (if paid, the NFT standard switches to native, or as we call it, #Rebel). Another cool option we've added is that also the Owners can add Royalties if they wish so. The idea came from the assumption that since you truly own an asset on #Radix (if the license also permits), the Rebel NFTs can become Royal again and the owner will be the one collecting the Royalties further. This particular feature simulates also real life assets, as for example a song license, where the Owner is the one licensing the IP. How and to what extent this feature will be used remains to be seen, but we're excited about its possible applications. 😎
