@ayushagarwal I think cost hits zero, open source becomes the norm and frontier AI labs pivot to AI cybersecurity

@unusual_whales Yes all the people that AI supposedly replaced are the only people who qualify for AI jobs lol

growth hacking isn't a tactic. it's one question: who already has my customers? here's how it plays out:
wealth manager friend: "my best clients have jets." ok.. who sells the list of every private plane at an airport? turns out, someone does. that was his whole channel.
payroll software client burning cash on cold dials. i asked what was true about his 100 customers. "they all use google apps for domains." that meant early adopters.
so instead of dialing 300k businesses, he filtered to the 20k that matched. done.
find the unique angle nobody else sees. that's the moat. if everyone knew it, it'd stop working.

Boris Cherny, creator of Claude Code: "the code itself is no longer precious"
He just revealed his 3-tier task system - and it changes how you should be using AI right now:
Easy tasks → tag Claude on a GitHub issue, let it write the full PR
Medium tasks → start in plan mode, align first, then hit auto-accept
Hard tasks → you drive, Claude assists, not the other way around
most people use Claude Code the same way for everything.
that's why they're frustrated.
match the tool to the task.
that's the entire unlock.
18 minutes of conversation. worth more than any $300 AI productivity course.

Right now it feels like being a human is a liability but there could soon be so many AI that being an actual flesh and blood embodied human will be seen as cool and enviable

Microsoft launched Scout, an AI executive assistant that lives directly inside your email and calendar.
Not as a separate app you forget to open.
More like a real employee sitting in the flow of work, reading context, tracking meetings, handling follow-ups, and helping you move faster.
This is the AI product direction that actually makes sense.
Less “come chat with me.”
More “I’m already inside your workflow, quietly removing the annoying operational drag.”

@BrianRoemmele Yeah, only company that can realistically solve the data center bottleneck

Random thought on a Saturday evening during a video creation pause...
I have mixed feelings about AI coding tools bc yes, they made me faster. a lot. but honestly, sometimes they also make me more tired.
the job of a developer now feels less like “write code” and more like “read what the AI did, check if it made stuff up, fix weird edge cases, clean up the mess, and decide if I actually trust it”.
And this means that some devs use AI and become 10x faster, while others create noise and mess everything up. AI can make good engineers better, but it can also make lazy engineering scale faster!
so I'm a bit tired of the classic question "will AI replace devs?" and more interested in: "are these tools making us better engineers, or just moving the hard work to the ppl who still care about quality?"
curious what other devs are seeing rn.
