your first 100 users are already in a room talking about your competitor. go take them. same play, 3 places: reddit → find the subreddits in your niche. answer people describing the exact pain you fix. don't pitch, just help (reddit will nuke you for less). slack → competitor communities are goldmines. pull the member list, match the names to linkedin, DM the ones who actually fit. ( producthunt + indie hackers → scrape who's commenting on tools like yours. someone reviewing your competitor is already in market. the grunt work (names → linkedin profiles → "is this person a fit?") is the part arnie does in one pass. roughly half a slack list turns into real profiles.

This kind of DM does very well. People think you need to go super complex with DMs. You don’t. He identified my exact pain point: user feedback, and presented it through an angle that genuinely works for the niche I’m in. And it was super short. Honestly, DM is more about who you target and what you sell. Not writing more.
