Really, really like the Sampie Swiegers to move to Harlequins. It's clear he wasn't going to get a move to an SA club; they would have pounced by now. Now gets a crack at a club where he can play regularly and will have a good scrum coach in Adam Jones, too. He was/is on the Springboks radar and needed a move if he wants to make that step up to the international arena. This signing plus Ruwald van der Merwe to Glasgow further proves that players can still get into a top league via the Currie Cup sides even if the SA teams aren't paying attention.

One is replacing Ene who hasn’t had much game time for us but the others are replacing Dan du preez and quirke, you need to replace them two with the highest of quality

This is why we need a good replacement. Warr isn’t good enough. Wish we got Papier, seems we will have to settle for Roe (hopefully turns out to be really good otherwise looking at another poor season)

From outside perspective we offer nothing, we have a rich owner but still bound by a cap which many other prem teams can also meet we need a fantastic matchday experience to draw world class players in and that’s not happening at the Salford ground

Mannn, I wanted Papier. Second choice super rugby player and it’s the “best squad we’ve ever had”. Hope I’m proven wrong but not heard much good about him

@cornwall_fraser Wow that low, I must have been reading the 3rd or 4th comments, as ones I’ve read can’t speak highly enough of him. If I were Sanderson I’d be kicking myself now letting raffi go, people will blame his injuries, but there were many times he was fit and still 2nd choice

@jacksutton22 We definitely were talking to him, and he definitely was interested (at least his agent was). Also, he wasn’t in the last SA squad of 49 which had 5 scrum half’s in. He’s probably ranked 6th or 7th by rassie. 3rd or 4th by some others in SA.

@jacksutton22 @garfster2609 He has slightly improved attack. Our issues are multi factorial this season. Time will tell next year. No excuses. I deffo saw improvements early before injuries etc took hold.

So this HAS now happened. Quite the meteoric rise!
