🦈 Byron McGuigan leaves Sale! The second PREM coach to leave their club this week after Alan Dickens, both "to pursue other opportunities". Quins, Gloucester, England? Or somewhere else?

@RugbyInsideLine @ajsrugby Growing the game for you is NFL style half time 'entertainment' Probably supporting R360 and trying to turn rugby into the IPL or F1, which is incompatible

🌹 As an aside, worth keeping an eye on Hendy and Carpenter, but neither are ready yet. Hendy looks like a phenomenal athlete and attacking weapon, but his kicking game and defensive numbers (tackle % in particular)don't look like they'll work in Borthwick’s current system. Carpenter is slightly more balanced but still lacks the kicking volume and defensive solidity Borthwick seems to want at the moment.

I spoke to a homeless chap outside of @LeicesterTigers today, who explained that he always begs on a match day. Last week a man bought him coffee then wheeled him into stadium hospitality, fed him, bought him some clobber and made him felt seen. Turns out it was a team member…

✋ It'll be valuable for Ire long term if they get the provs contributing in a more balanced way. Ulster fingerprints all over their successes this 6N, with promising youngsters from Munster and Connacht too.

A lot of folks unsurprisingly missing the point here. The key insight here is, like the kit clash thing, that the NH narrative is historically always been about 'if we do it's OK'. SRP teams combine for games with 11 tries? Shit defence. 6N game ends 50-40? Wow so intense. SRP player makes a dominant tackle? That should be a red card etc. It literally can't win because another barrier gets held up, based on absolute bullshit. The 6N has ALWAYS had unpredictable results, that's what's great about it. The reason why it's being held in such high regard this year is that the attacking standard has made it fantastic to watch. You can't say the second part hasn't complimented the first part massively.
Jamie Wall@JamieWall2

I mean that was a great test match, no doubt about that. But seriously, the fact that so many people are ready to venerate this as the greatest 6N of all time? Its key component has been high scoring matches and a kit clash, making a lot of what you’ve said about Super Rugby since like, forever, feel just a tad two faced right now. But hey, keep blaming NZ and Aus for trying to make stuff like this happen on a more regular basis! And this isn’t just a dumbass social media thing, either. This perception literally manifested itself into a situation at World Rugby level just last month, so like maybe put away the partisan perceptions and just admit you like watching tries get scored?
