⭐️ EUROPEAN FINALISTS Leinster are set to make their ninth appearance in a Champions Cup Final, moving ahead of Toulouse. Meanwhile, reigning champions Bordeaux are back for their second Final on the bounce. Huge contest coming in Bilbao!

🛁 Bad start for Bath, dream start for Bordeaux. The rain has gone and the sun come out at the worst time possible for them.

🛁 There is something really interesting tactically about Bath's game on Sunday. The basic Bath plan should be make UBB play from deeper, contest the air, reduce the amount of loose-field ball for Penaud, LBB etc, and turn the match into exits, lineouts, penalties and 22 entries. That is Bath’s natural game. The issue is that UBB are not a side who obviously panic when dragged into that kind of match.

Stills and slo-mo can be misleading. Not sure it was in this instance. Wild that's a yellow.

🤼 Stockdale has just hit IFW high. And then RKO'd him immediately afterwards. Why on earth has Stockdale done that. Horrible.

🔴 vs 🔵 Plenty of Army and Navy shirts on the streets of London this morning. Brilliant to see one of rugby's historic traditions going from strength-to-strength! The first game took place in 1878.

Leinster obviously favourites tomorrow, but there are areas where they are vulnerable. There is a route to Toulon winning this game. 💪 Tighthead, scrum and front-row depth is a vulnerability. Clarkson is decent, but Gros, Baubigny and Sinckler are incredibly high quality. If Porter doesn't hit the ground running and if Clarkson is shaky at scrumtime, Leinster are v vulnerable. 🔐 The second vulnerability is their (not great) defensive tackle numbers. Leinster’s best defence is often just suffocation in your own half forcing sides into low-quality exits. That only works when they control field position though, and becomes riskier if Toulon can manufacture broken-field moments for Drean, Jaminet, Brex and Albornoz. 🧠 The “Leinster choke” thing can be a little lazy, but in the specific pattern of recent European semi-finals and finals it is a real thing. They are expected to win this game and Toulon aren't. If Leinster are ahead after 20, they'll probably comfortably pull away, but if it is tight and low scoring and Toulon are winning scrum penalties, they could fall apart. 🔟 The pressure on Harry Byrne is immense. Byrne has 54 European points, 40 kicks in play, 950 kicking metres and 13 retained kicks. He's by no means a passenger, but Ribbans, Ollivon and Kpoku will be running straight at him all day to choke Leinster's kicking game and force it all onto Gibson-Park to do singlehandedly. 🛁 Spencer being fit is so important for Bath's gameplan. Spencer leads all 9s in the Champions Cup for kick metres with 1,644m from 5 appearances, 354/80. JGP manages 286. Ben White 262. Bath's territorial model runs almost entirely through him. Powered by @Oval_Insights
