@AgfAab @Hungoverdaily_ @usmntonly I mean until your fan base never comes and you aren’t making any money.
English

@AgfAab @Hungoverdaily_ @usmntonly Great example, if Tottenham actually had finished last in the EPL, instead of going to the championship. If they were in the MLS, and you had Yamal coming in from a youth academy. Tottenham would draft him, then hopefully be on their way back up. That’s the US system.

Mauricio Pochettino said that ‘American sports reward losers’ when asked about the style of play in top European nations vs. in the U.S. 😯🇺🇸
QUESTION: “We know how England, France, Spain play… Players from countries with a strong tradition have a recognizable style. What is the style of the US team? What kind of football do the Americans want to play?”
ANSWER: “Their culture is playful. They want to play. We told them, “Guys, playing soccer is one thing, competing is another.” They’re two completely different sports. They grow up in a culture of playing. Why? If you start in MLS and you haven’t won a game in three months and you’re at the bottom, what’s the consequence if there’s no promotion or relegation, no international competition? American sports reward losers! But soccer is different: if you reward those who don’t win… If you don’t have goals, you don’t fight. If I lose, what happens? Nothing. They just fire the coach. Also, the American player is disciplined. But with a sense of complacency that isn’t good in soccer. It took us a year and a half to change that mentality.”

@laszenger @Hungoverdaily_ @AgfAab @usmntonly That’s also why certain leagues have tried to put anti-tanking measures in place. Though football hasn’t because they understand the profit losses, and other negative effects of being bad.
English

@Hungoverdaily_ @AgfAab @jacobkthomas @usmntonly Surely when it gets to a point where it’s clear a team won’t win this year that team will just tank it to get that pick though right? Or is there something stopping that?
English

@AgfAab @usmntonly I mean, where are the bad teams supposed to go. Relegation was never a thing in the American sports culture.
English

@usmntonly Wait MLS teams don't get relegated no matter how bad they finish? So a team can finish bottom for three straight seasons and just... stay up?
English

@paulsen_smw Last nights did seem short. While the SVP postgame of the NBA finals seemed lackluster for some reason to me.
English

@JimmyTraina The hand to the mouth is the ultimate part of this clip. Was this her first day in the field? It’s like what school did she go to? They must have scared the hell out of them about cursing on TV.
English

@Rate_the_Refs He needed to know that he just needed to stop, they were looking to call the foul.
English

@thejohnfreeman @jessesingal So you don't have to give him any space to land?
English

@jessesingal Brunson kicks his foot way out front to step on Wemby. x.com/i/status/20659…
KNICKS BEAST@KnicksBeast
Bro Anything to protect Wemby, this is insane
English

This wasn't even close. By the rules, it's clearly a flagrant foul and Wemby clearly should have been suspended for next game if there is one. Terrible officiating. And I say that as someone who wants a Game 6 (and 7!).
Steve Popper@StevePopper
Brunson hits a three and gets undercut by Wemby -- no call -- and Mike Brown is at midcourt. Should have been a flagrant - which would mean a suspension next game if there is one. Brunson was in pain and angry.
English

@TheDave25 @BadSportsRefs He seriously is the series extender for real.
English

KAT picks up his 4th foul seconds into the 2nd half
A flagrant that would’ve resulted in a Wemby suspension is missed
Harper pokes Bridges in the eye and it’s missed
Once you start to pay attention to what Tim Donaghy is talking about, you can’t unsee it
Bad Sports Refs@BadSportsRefs
Tim Donaghy tells you how NBA playoff officiating works to keep a series going

@elguaposhedges @JoePompliano I’m aware of the break, but do we need commercials, that’s the thing. I mean I also know it’s not like they would provide analysis or anything useful during the break.
English

@jacobkthomas @JoePompliano It's a new FIFA rule. It would have been implemented no matter who hosted the World Cup.
English

@JPierreX7 @FloydTweet He’s the face that Fox decided to make the face. He’s not the face of US soccer. There is a difference for sure.
English

@FloydTweet Thierry will have to deal with it. Lalas is one of the faces of U.S. soccer and deserves to be covering the World Cup.
English

@ajexpress01 @bryancurtis Didn’t even mention it!
English

@bryancurtis They also didn't show a replay of KAT's tip on the last play
English

@BrickCenter_ I was thinking that pass came out weird, but no one during the broadcast or postgame brought it up. KAT was big after the foul trouble for sure.
English

@LegionHoops @wolfejosh @MLFootball First time, I’m down for whatever he can do to make a change. Go get em Mr President !
English

Donald Trump looks like he’s complaining that Jalen Brunson got fouled to Adam Silver himself. This is legendary.
(via @wolfejosh, h/t @MLFootball)
English

@BrewstaMA @TNTSportsUS @AndreAgassi Yes, clearly said it in the clip with about 30 seconds left of it.
English

@jacobkthomas @TNTSportsUS @AndreAgassi Did he actually say one slam wonder ?? Was listening to him earlier this week and he came off as such an arrogant prick
English

"Winning changes nothing."
@AndreAgassi knows that the pressure won't let up on Alexander Zverev even if he wins his first Grand Slam today at #RolandGarros
English

@BarstoolReags That is some practice level stuff right there. Makes you wonder how many times Mike Brown had them run that.
English

@JimmyTraina That’s why NBC is great, they tell you the actual tip time, so there are no surprises.
