Also, @UKLabour and the @Conservatives have got hundreds of MPs each. Any chance you both could put some new faces forward to appear on the #bbcqt panel? Show the depth of your parties and put forward new voices instead of having the same faces on time and again. #QuestionTime

Hi @bbcquestiontime producers, Reform UK has 8 of 650 MPs and controls 13 of 317 local authorities, and yet, they have representation on the panel nearly every wk. For context, the @LibDems have 72 MPs. Your panels are not "representative of the electoral picture" then.

These are all good points. Shame they've clearly all been written by ChatGPT though...

Tonight’s edition of BBC Question Time raises legitimate questions about panel balance and editorial judgement. The programme brings together serving politicians who currently hold mandates and are directly involved in the day to day realities of government and parliamentary scrutiny. That is the purpose of a programme intended to examine contemporary political decisions and accountability. Against that background, the inclusion of Nadine Dorries stands out. She is no longer a serving Member of Parliament and holds no elected office or formal political role. Her departure from Parliament in 2023 followed a public dispute with the Conservative leadership after a peerage nomination did not materialise, and her standing within her party had already diminished. Her tenure as Culture Secretary also attracted sustained criticism, particularly regarding her command of policy detail and her performance under parliamentary scrutiny. Concerns raised during select committee appearances contributed to a wider perception in Westminster that her effectiveness in the role fell short of the standard expected of a senior minister. The issue is not personality but relevance. When a former office holder without a current mandate is presented alongside serving politicians who are actively responsible for policy and legislation, it raises a reasonable question about the criteria being used. At the same time, the absence of representation from the Liberal Democrats, the second largest opposition party in the House of Commons, further adds to concerns about whether the panel reflects the current parliamentary landscape. Public confidence in political broadcasting depends on fairness, proportionality and contemporary relevance. If programmes such as Question Time are intended to reflect today’s politics rather than yesterday’s personalities, then panel selection should more closely mirror the balance of representation and responsibility in Parliament.

Nadine Dorries just said in defence of Jim Ratliffe, "He may have got the substance wrong..." Know you aren't aware of this given the BoJo govt you served in and the vapid nature of your books, Nadine, but THE SUBSTANCE OF A POINT IS THE THING THAT MATTERS! #bbcqt #QuestionTime

And, to be crystal clear on this point; The Lib Dems currently have 72 MPs Reform UK has 8 And yet, Reform UK is represented on the #bbcqt panel in some form nearly every week in accordance with 'the electoral picture'. Again, what consistutes this 'electoral picture' though?

(4/4) In the absence of an impartial press, the BBC needs to do its job according to the Royal Charter by not giving Reform UK undue prominance and then relying on 'polling' (which isn't accurate and is, at times, commissioned by people with agendas of their own) to justify it.

In recent weeks and months, #bbcqt viewers have rightly been calling out the disproprtionate amount Reform UK appears on the panel. Glad to see they've listened by having vocal Reform UK supporter Nadine Dorries on the panel this week(!) (1/4)

Guesses after watching tonight's episode of #MaskedSingerUK; Toastie - Surely, it's Lisa Stansfield Conker - No idea. Greg Rutherford? Moth - Yeah, I was wrong. I think it's Jamelia now. Maya Jama has me shook with her Keisha Buchanan guess though. Fair play to her if it is.

On this week's #QuestionTime, one of the audience mentions "the broken social contract in the UK for under 30s". It's actually the under 40s - we went to uni because we were told we should, and then graduated into a global financial crisis/lack of jobs. #bbqt

Konstantin Kisin again?? There are no end of 'commentators' and 'podcasters'. Any chance the #bbcqt producers could book a different one for a change, instead of booking the same Reform megaphone provocateur over and over again because they want more online engagement?

At some point, there needs to be a conversation about @Meta's response to the Digital Comms Act and EU directives being to give users a Hobson's choice; 'Either pay, or agree that we can use your info for all these things you don't want us to. Otherwise, delete your accounts'.

One thing I'll never understand about #QuestionTime is they go to a locality and don't have the local MP on. @Tim_Roca is the MP for Macclesfield (and a fine job he's doing too). @UKLabour should be putting him up to speak for his town and his party on the national stage imho.
BBC Question Time@bbcquestiontime

Given Wigan's connection to Northern Soul and the fact that it's The Home of Rugby League, @WiganCouncil's Comms team - who have leaned far too heavily into parochialism recently - would do well to apply for this, emphasising the things Wigan has given to the world.
