@Michael60647411 It’s insane, he gets ahead he’s one of the hardest RP in baseball to square up. He falls behind and hes BP for them. I think Macko remains SP depth until we’re sure we’ve got enough starters back healthy

@SportFan1919 There’s 9 guys on the field. The pitcher is responsible for striking guys out and letting up soft contact, the rest is out of the pitchers control. He’s doing his job right now.

@dankyoumyfriend He had a very high hr rate last year to fb rate, it’s not at all difficult to believe that was an anomaly that will return to the mean.

Outside of an incredibly high home run to fly ball rate last year most underlying stats were good. Year before that his era reflected that. And also most are commenting on this years “2 blown saves” without the context of Langeliers taking a good pitch deep or Heinemanns throwing error being the reason why

@jaystalk89 You are using 5 IP this year. How about we look last year, how many home runs he gave up, how many saves were blown. He’s a good pitcher but he’s not a closer. And i’m not even mentioning the World Series.

@Ihatewinter2026 He’s looked completely fine this year. Velo and movement are spot on for the early going. One good swing from Langeliers and the throw away + bloop single today… it happens. This isn’t the same as last year where it was a HR on every piece of contact he allowed.

Last year was last year, he had an insanely high HR/FB rate that is unlikely to repeat. This season is very small sample but he’s been K’ing guys and letting up weak contact outside of Langeliers taking him deep on a high fastball. There aren’t a ton of clear obvious upgrades over this guy

@JohnnyGiunta_ Offence almost got bailed out by an agent 0 bomb and an error but they need to get a little more consistent. Pitching took no blame in that one for me.
