@OliBarrett I wasn't there Oli, so not really qualified to comment. But I don't believe it. You can never please all of the people all of the time. Keep up the good work.

A huge lowlight today as I was accused (privately) of prejudice in who I called upon (and overlooked) to ask questions at an event. Colleagues will know how seriously I take this. I'm mortified. No sense in trying to defend myself. I can and will do better, and I'm sorry.

@simonsquibb Social Security....The money I'm paying now, will not be there when I need it. Or if it is...the amount that people live on is pitiful. I heard of one former client who's getting about $875 a month for retirement. My jaw hit the floor.....😒

“This was all rubbish of course” is the most telling quote from this article (by Tom Knowles). Once an entrepreneur begins to actually believe their own propaganda, alarm bells should be ringing for potential investors. thetimes.co.uk/article/2f5476…

You can’t make a career out of failure. But failure does make you stronger-so long as you learn from it. While New Covent Garden Soup Company was a success, my next venture – soup in a carton for the US market - was a failure. lnkd.in/dJvByVZ

When we launched New Covent Garden Soup Co we had a tiger by the tail. We were chasing to keep up with demand. Things were a bit different in the States. @simonsquibb asked me about the #lessons I learned from my failed effort bringing fresh soup to the US.

“Normal is stranger than fiction” Alan O'Neill outlines some excellent advice here for the retail world. The point is, no matter what industry we are in, we need to act smart. Cos normal really is stranger than fiction. bit.ly/3yCC0Zd

This is an excellent case study: bit.ly/3u1fnKG Simon Rogerson makes the point well - when building trust and a healthy culture, it’s all about communication.

Entrepreneurs pivoted to beat the effects of lockdown. Now we need to pivot to beat the effects of complacency. We’re not moving back to “the way it was”. We’re moving forward to a new hybrid – to a way it’s going to be. Are you pivoting ready for where they need you to be?

#Entrepreneurs experience adversity all the time. It's what often defines us. If we're busy crashing through walls and uprooting trees, guess what, we'll experience resistance. My belief is we should embrace #adversity. It tells us we're doing something worthwhile.

Andy Coyne’s article in @JustFoodMag_ captures some of my thoughts. It’s an interesting one – some really understandable motivations driving this deal. But also can’t help wondering if there will be challenges. Not much different to many deals I suspect! just-food.com/analysis/has-m…
