LENI'S CHOICE
Former Vice President Leni Robredo has made her Senate picks clear, endorsing former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino while expressing her support for former Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Heidi Mendoza and 2021 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Ka Dodoy Ballon.
At the Kiko-Bam 2025 People's Campaign Kickoff Rally in Dasmariñas Arena, Cavite, on February 11, Robredo urged supporters to elect principled leaders who would stand alongside Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros in the upper chamber. She emphasized the need for strong allies in the fight for good governance, social justice, and economic reforms.
"Mas gagaan ang laban pag meron siyang kasama. Kaya ang susunod na atas para sa ating lahat—bigyan natin si Senator Risa ng mga kaalyado at katuwang—mga kapwa niya matitino at mahuhusay na titindig kasama niya sa lahat ng laban," Robredo said.
She highlighted Aquino's advocacy for free education and job security and praised Pangilinan's commitment to food security and good governance, recalling his selfless decision to run as her vice-presidential candidate in 2022 despite the uncertain outcome.
Robredo also publicly declared her support for Mendoza, stating that she would "definitely vote" for her. She made the statement in response to a social media comment urging her to include Mendoza in her endorsements.
Meanwhile, in Naga City, Robredo also raised the hand of Ballon, a former small-scale fisherman who became a champion of sustainable fishing and marine conservation.
