If you have had an MRI scan done privately, or at another hospital, your NHS specialist doesn’t automatically have access to it. Your GP doesn’t have it either. You need to let the consultant’s secretary know so we can get the images transferred to us.

@joybells49 Wow. You couldn't even be bothered to proofread your AI-generated "prayer". Such devotion.

📌 Sunday, December 14, 2025 — Daily Devotional “Strength for the Steps You Haven’t Taken Yet” Some mornings you wake up feeling strong, ready, and confident. Other mornings you rise feeling like you’re starting at zero—emotionally tired, spiritually drained, or simply overwhelmed by what lies ahead. Yet here is the comfort we often forget: God does not give you strength for yesterday’s battles. He gives you strength for today’s steps. Isaiah 33:2 says, “Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of trouble.” Notice the phrase every morning. God refreshes, renews, and refills you daily—not weekly, not monthly, not when things get desperate. His mercies are new this morning, His presence is with you this morning, and His strength is available this morning. Maybe today you need clarity. Maybe you need hope. Maybe you need courage to rise again. Or maybe you simply need to be reminded that God is not asking you to walk this day alone. Whatever today holds, God is already in it. Whatever you fear, He has already conquered it. Whatever you cannot see, He has already prepared the path. So take a breath. Lift your heart. And walk into this day knowing God goes before you, walks beside you, and strengthens you for every step ahead. 🙏 Morning Prayer Father, thank You for this new day and the strength that meets me with the sunrise. Calm my heart, steady my thoughts, and guide my steps. Fill me with Your peace, guard me with Your presence, and remind me that I am never walking alone. Today, be my strength, my wisdom, and my joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Changing some lights. Discontinued range means I’ve got to take these back to the wires and there are a few surprises along the way. One had two grey cables and the other had just one but I wasn’t expecting three.

This is the London Banana. As long as you stay within the Banana, you'll have a great time in London. Almost everything outside the Banana is horrible these days, best avoid. Not clear why, or when this happened. But it is what it is.

There should be an NHS index list for every single service provider, their location, and their referral contact details accessible to all clinicians. It does not have to be on e-RS. It should be a simple website. If a tertiary level service wants to refer to a local community service, nothing should stop them going direct.

@NotFarLeftAtAll I would pull out of there without a fuss and not make such an issue out of it as this guy did. Annoying that someone parked over the drive but this is a negotiable manoeuvre by anyone with an ounce of driving ability.

@Liesl_RW I once worked with a guy nicknamed Cheggers. I had to wait a few months, but eventually he turned up with a raging hangover, at which point I was finally able to deliver the line I had been saving: Cheggers can’t be boozers.

@fourhourtarget I mean low-tech as a compliment, by the way. NHS stuff needs to be simple and battle-hardened!

@fourhourtarget We only recently moved on from fax machines, and have yet to achieve the white whale of a reliable PACS system, but sure!

Interesting. So a Pharmacy degree now has prescribing rights built in. Look at the language. Remember, the 10YP puts Pharmacy and not GP at the heart of the new neighborhood services.

@ArunBaksi Nonsense. We do it because it’s ikigai: what someone likes and is good at, what the world needs, and what can be rewarded. All components are required and it’s disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

Gonna be stretched tomorrow with the residents’ doctors strike and we’re running on one third of our normal doctor numbers. Might have an early night.

@eigenrobot Does your company allow the use of things like GitHub copilot. If not, why not? And if yes, then you should be interviewing in an "open book exam" style. Ask questions that assume AI use and check for understanding, which is what you're actually hiring.

@Langton_Steve @ClinOncDoc @lengreview I started out thinking I was clever. Medical training disabused me of that. Now I see others, with far less knowledge, speak with far more certainty. There’s a lesson in that, and it’s not flattering.

@ClinOncDoc @lengreview Well, a lot of my training showed, fairly regularly, that (1) I wasn't such a clever boy after all (2) there's usually more to a problem than you think (3) there's SO much more to learn (4) problems happen when you're at your most confident so be CAREFUL. Do PAs train like this?

The most pertinent finding of @lengreview was the discrepancy between what PAs and Drs felt PAs were competent to do: Drs are trained to be cautious, careful, and reign in over-confidence. PAs do not demonstrate the same levels of caution, and one needs to ask why that is.
