Yesterday, Trump lifted UK whiskey tariffs that were supposedly (by law) about a "balance of payments" crisis.
Today, he's imposing EU automotive tariffs that were supposedly (by law) about "national security".

As I’ve said since that first Trump term, we may never know why Trump is so loyal to Putin. Bribery? Blackmail? Affinity for dictators & oligarchs? KGB asset? All of the above? More important is stopping him, because if he were a Russian agent, what would he do differently?

Trump has been threatening such reductions to a number of European and Asian allies going back to his first term. This particular announcement comes the same day he spoke with Putin - and it’s a development Russia would certainly welcome.

The “constituent” I opposed pardoning was Greg Lindberg, who was convicted of defrauding North Carolinians to the tune of billions of dollars and attempting to bribe public officials.

I’ll always believe that the first Trump Administration was conservative.
But in this Administration there are enormous departures:
⚪️ Trade policy
⚪️ Reluctance to defend life
⚪️ Price controls
⚪️ Credit card caps
⚪️ Telling people who can and cannot buy a home
⚪️ Nationalization of companies
That’s not conservative or free market

Trump’s FCC chair, Brendan Carr, says he plans to punish and potentially revoke broadcast licenses for TV networks critical of the Trump administration:
“I’d be surprised if we don’t go down the path of license revocation for some. It will be up to them and their conduct.”
