@staplestodda @braves2928 I'll let you figure out which is Acuna/Riley. Fact is Riley has a .280 OBP, and Acuna has a .350. These two are not the same. Acuna has been quite unlucky thus far, and Riley has been nonexistent. Hope this helps.

@braves2928 Austin’s avg is around .197. Acuna’s is .241 approximately. A .04 difference. Both are terrible but we only see static about Riley. Not Acuna just as bad AND in the leadoff. Why doesn’t anyone want to talk out loud about Acuna’s performance…or lack of it.

What else is there to say about Austin. Saying that’s one of the worst at bats you can possibly have is not an exaggeration. He needs a day off. That won’t fix anything, but the lineup might genuinely be better with Dubon and Mateo.

@BaseballWRLD_ I'm not sure with 550 he would have a great case for the HOF. Zero defensive value. Zero baserunning value. A DH only player with an .847 OPS (will certainly be lower by the end of his career) is a tough sell for HOF.

@podoffame Even with 550 HR, it would be hard to justify Schwarder getting in and guys like Murphy, Lofton, or Whitaker not.

@FiredUpCoug This stems from a change in how teachers get evaluated now. There is so much extra work needed, phone calls/emails/paperwork, to fail a student that most reachers would rather pass them over actually having them master the material.

“Why do you have an F in science!?” “Don’t worry, Dad. It’ll be an A by the end of the term. My teacher lets us turn in assignments whenever we want with no penalty.” Is this a familiar conversation for other parents on X? I hate this policy. I’m sure teachers see it as compassionate, and I understand the instinct. But “do it whenever you feel like it and turn it in late with no consequence” is not kindness. It is reaching our kids that deadlines are suggestions, procrastination has no cost, and urgency is optional. That is not how the world works after graduation. A little flexibility is good. Grace matters. But grace without any expectations does NOT prepare kids for adulthood.

This is one of the cleanest examples of pitcher wins hijacking an award vote. Clemens went 18-4, so voters had their answer. Randy had the better ERA, more innings, way more strikeouts, fewer walks, and almost 3 more WAR. Who should’ve won the 2004 NL Cy Young?

@itslinklauren No one in music today is very culturally significant due to the fragmentation of the business. You can get a billion streams of a song and still easily find people who have never heard it or even know the artist. We left the mono-culture in the early 2000's.

I’m not a Taylor Swift hater, but when you hear these classic songs you question whether or not her discography will stand the test of time. She’s very commercially successful and has broken records. But I don’t think her music will have the same cultural impact as legends like ABBA, Michael Jackson and others who we still listen to 50 years later.

@castrovince It's not solely this rule that has people questioning things. That said, the rule is kind of ludicrous on the surface. The idea that Ohtani is not counted as a pitcher when he's pitching in the game is weird.

Don't have a dog in this fight, but it has been absolutely wild watching a rule announced in [checks notes] March 2019(!) generate this much discussion in April 2026.

@Sox_Savant I'd go with Miller today. He has pitched in nearly 50% of SD games this year. Starters have not pitched enough yet to overcome the absolute dominance of Miller.

@BBGreatMoments That’s actually pretty good… I would make a couple tweaks, though… Jeter over Babe and maybe Pete Rose over Johnny Bench, but there’s no question Bench was the greatest catcher ever in all of baseball.
