You don't need a PhD to understand why people are poor. Poverty goes away when prosperity shows up. Earth doesn't have a temperature any more than your house does. Cities have seen higher low temperatures but not increasing high temperatures. Remote thermometers show almost no change since the late 1800s. Thermometer data is manipulated dramatically for political purposes. Temperatures were far colder in the 1600-1700s - the Little Ice Age. A drop in CO2 did not cause that. We are coming out of the LIA as a result of various solar cycles and a change in albedo, which add more/less energy into the oceans (something no greenhouse gas can do), and the oceans drive our climate. The AMO is a 65-year cycle. Overall, temperatures are still trending up (that's good), while various factors will determine the outcomes in different places over different time scales.
