@TheCinesthetic Cool! I am wondering if the flying star field effect was analog or CGI. On the Atari 800 the game Star Raiders (released in 1980) had a similar effect. The 1982 HBO clip did show someone running code on a duotone CRT monitor but it wasn't clear what it was for.

The making of iconic HBO’s 1982 intro and the final result is still mind-blowing.

@ShopifySupport How can I create a report that just shows traffic to blogs, regardless of whether it's a landing page? Or a straight up report of page views for all pages on my store, including blogs and products? I apparently have 2026 "New Analytics" engine. Very hard to use.

@michaelpatron0 @CameronWalkerSZ They really have burnt a lot of goodwill. They can lose CRAP in crowded cats, but they need to keep good sellers & brands because selection and competition keeps prices down. Sometimes I wonder after endless problems, fees and poor treatment, why stay? Profit has evaporated.

@CameronWalkerSZ Amazon doesn't need more sellers though, they just need more fees so honestly why would they even care if sellers flee?

Hmmm, I have 108K sitting in my Amazon account and Amazon will give me 5K. I have deferred orders from February since Amazon gives biz accounts the option to pay 30-45 days later. Can't wait until AMZ releases the option to get paid early for a fee. lol.

@michaelazerrad @Steven_Hyden Or have them read the painful passages from Mark Lanegan's "Sing Backwards and Weep" detailing their friendship, including Cobain's desperate attempts to get in touch with his friend before the end.

@Steven_Hyden FWIW, my two cents on this, from _The Amplified Come as You Are_. I should have added that prior attempts are another high risk factor.

Last month yet another study alleging Kurt Cobain was murdered was released. I decided to launch my own investigation into the history of KC conspiracy theories going back to the 90s, and then wrote several thousand words about it. tinyurl.com/32p546d9

This is honestly the quality I would expect from someone's "I vibe coded a spotify competitor in 1 weekend" project.

The most beautiful studio album closer of all time is “Find the River” on REM’s Automatic for the People.” I would love to hear other candidates (while warning that they’ll likely be deemed incorrect).

On ~1 million extra ISBNs in 2025: "Serious publishers need to perform serious due diligence to catch writers misrepresenting AI-written works as their own. There are parallels with the even older problem of plagiarized content making it into print." leanmedia.org/1-million-new-…

this shit is so embarrassing. the artists that you admire are not typing “avant-garde type beat” into the robot. literally zero people that i know are engaging with this bullshit. the CEO of fakery wants us to imagine a world where everyone is faking it & it’s not working 🤷‍♀️

George Lucas on the state of film and TV today: "Nobody knows what to do. The stories they're telling are just old movies. Let's do a sequel. Let's do another version of this movie. And it's not just in movies, but in almost everything, there's no original thinking. It's like I saw something, let's do something like that." Is he on to something here?

@kevin_nealon "I knew how much time the writers put into those scripts. You don’t want to be the one who throws it off." Don't some writers WANT to throw it off? @mulaney always tried (and often succeeded) with Bill Hader's Stefon giving NYC club recommendations to Seth Myers.

I never broke character on SNL. I knew how much time the writers put into those scripts. You don’t want to be the one who throws it off. Lorne doesn’t like when the cast breaks. Even if the audience laughs, it doesn't work for the sketch. If I could get through the Chippendales sketch, I could get through anything.

"We need to start thinking about how we allow international companies access and how we protect our companies"
Mark Cuban@mcuban

That is not to say agents won't have value for you. There is a reason that the big online retailers like Amazon are doing all they can to stop agents from having access to their prices. They know their prices aren't the lowest, that they price not only to market, but to your price points. Could this be where Amazon takes a hit ? "Send your agent to our website to shop for everything. Actual shipping cost. Not member fees. We aren't afraid of your shopping agents! We welcome them " And what about companies like Temu and Shein..OMG. How do we even determine the tax domicile of a source when agents will do all work to determine how to mislead import offices ? And it's very feasible today to use AI to figure out the best selling products on Amazon and then just tell AI to knock it off. Literally. Only solution is a trust system where a vendor puts down a bond before they can sell anything to any person or agent in the USA , and allow everyone to compare that product to their own to determine if it's a knockoff or original. And after that 90 day review, gov AI agents approve or reject their ability to sell to USA residences. And if they do , the agent has to pay to the feds, their taxes, sales and estimated income tax , on each sale Shit gonna get crazy We need to start thinking about how we allow international companies access and how we protect our companies
