I was a contractor for the last 2 yrs for a TTRPG company (Gary Con sponsor). I did their community management, player onboarding, and just did a thing I won't share just yet. I also did contract work for TTRPG Kickstarters. I refuse to live a boring work life. This is too fun.

@paolini Have you heard of Tabletop Audio? I use it when I want to write but feel too overstimulated for actual music (a day with kids is noisy). You can choose specific ambient sounds, like traveling in a wagon, sitting in a busy tavern, etc. Usually with quiet music in the background

@paolini Throw in a side of casting runes for strangers and coaching people through existential crises, and I do the same thing. I was invited to be on King of the Nerds back in the day. There's that.

@stephenRB4 I believe romantasy is all about romance while fantasy romance is about story with a romantic side arc that's important to the story. I haven't read a romantasy with an actual story & real worldbuilding yet. Fourth Wing threw me off of trusting any of it.

I'd call that success. It's not always easy, and not everyone agrees with my work, but my ethics are clearly there, and the outcomes (and reviews) speak for themselves.✌🏻

Shit. I have a three-page list of people who hate me, but I have a solid community that financially supports my work so I can keep giving and helping them in return. I have worked from home since 2019, got my health issues under control, went to Scotland last year... 🥰
