@pythagoreanmetr @elonmusk I paid for the $300 monthly plan because the $30 one limited me. It’s nowhere near as efficient in SQL as ChatGPT is. I don’t use it for news or stupid shit. I use it to solve problems and it just doesn’t do as well.

@elonmusk Every time I have tried to use it... and I paid $300 by the way... it does this bizarre Socratic mode thing where it will say "what an interesting question let's explore it together as I help guide you to a solution". I find that so annoying that I don't really use it now.

Grok is constantly being updated, so there is a good chance that what didn’t work for you even a few days ago might work now

@elonmusk As someone who’s used Grok and ChatGPT for a SQL project, ChatGPT is better by far. The only thing is wasn’t better than Grok at was response time, but even then it still came up with the correct answer faster as Grok took too many steps to get to the correct script, if at all.

@ChatGPTapp vs @grok I started using grok to help build a SQL Express DB taking data from a POS system. At first grok worked well but got stuck writing a script that kept erroring. I then pasted the script and the error into ChatGPT and it fixed it first try. More in comments

In the end ChatGPT seems better for the code but can’t handle much at a time without starting new chats. Grok seems better with longer chats but isn’t as efficient with the code. Pick the lesser of two evils if you have a coding project I guess.

Reference old chats I’d have to explain where tables or data were and waste a lot of time. Now I want to switch back to grok but I don’t want to explain the entire setup over again with the hopes that grok also doesn’t slow to a crawl or can’t figure out the code.
