@JesseGranger_ Weird how a goalie change can sometimes be good for a team. Not saying Hart was the problem tonight, but still changes were needed and they weren't made. Carolina has one hell of a team and a great game plan. Reminds me of the VGK's Cup team with early lead and great defense
@JesseGranger_ I hope ESPN doesn’t show any Knights games next season. Just one example of many during these playoffs is when the Hart had a shutout going into the 3rd the announcers jinxed it, but they didn’t say it when Bussi had it.
Brandon Bussi: Stanley Cup clinching shutout
In January, I wrote about how he went from an undrafted waiver claim to a 27-year-old phenom. It included this line, which ended up being truer than I even realized when I wrote it.

The Golden Knights might need their goalie to steal Game 6
Luckily for them, they have a Stanley Cup winner sitting on the bench — one with playoff pedigree, a history of playing lights-out after being thrown into a series, and a lot to prove.

@JesseGranger_ Not with Hart in net we won’t. Easy to keep scapegoating “but the D”. Historically bad goaltending by Hart. Can’t change out the entire D, can make a change in net to try SOMETHING.
“We’ll be back here. We just have to do it in a different order.” — John Tortorella
He added that he’s leaving his clothes in the hotel, because he knows they’ll be back.
@YankeeGirlDad@rYanBergs24@JesseGranger_ He had a chance to stop the first one. He just missed. But you’re right it’s not all on him. Neither Hill or Schmid would have done any better.
@rYanBergs24@JesseGranger_ Lol. Please tell me which of the 4 goals Hart should have stopped? Not a single one was even mildly on the goal tender. 2 PP’s and 2 d-zone giveaways by his defense that nobody is stopping
@JesseGranger_ Hopefully they get some better refs. What was a cross check against McNabb wasn’t against their guy. It’s a good thing they kept thro the puck out of play or else the Knights wouldn’t have had a power play at all.
Final- Hurricanes 4, Golden Knights 2
Carolina pushes Vegas to the brink. The Cup will be in the building on Sunday. The Golden Knights will try to force a Game 7 back here in Raleigh.
@_BrysonLockhart@BigBoyBeard@JesseGranger_ It was the same as last game and the one they took away earlier. The goalie was interfered with. It’s ok though. They got their luck from other places.
@JesseGranger_@PierreVLeBrun@RussoHockey@seangentille@reporterchris@TheAthletic If VGK wins this series, that goal by Shea Theodore may go down as the biggest goal in VGK history
I truly believe, if CAR had won after VGK’s collapse, there’s no coming back in the series for Vegas
Theodore saved the game
&maybe the Cup!
@sabresbillsfan@JesseGranger_@TheAthletic He was flat-footed because they played a d man short most of the game. In a series this close, that extra 5 minutes of ice time makes a difference.
@JesseGranger_@TheAthletic Rasmus’s boneheaded plays cost us a 2-0 series lead and now have given Carolina life. All he had to do was send the puck up the boards and he was totally flat footed when Jankowski shot.
@JesseGranger_ Can you ask Torts why he didn’t rotate Coughlin through the D please? Couldn’t he see our D were gassed on the ice-especially Rasmus and Noah - they were skating in quick sand
Vegas players were obviously concerned for Brayden McNabb after he left the game, but felt they handled a tough situation well.
Marner called it terrifying, and said he’s hoping to check on him soon.
Explanation from the NHL on the no-goal call:
“The ruling on the play was goaltender interference. He waived it (off) immediately. He believed that it was under the goalie and the Vegas player went after the puck and interfered with the goalie and his ability to freeze the puck and waived it off immediately.”
@Avide702@JesseGranger_ They’ll be fine once they are playing with the same number of players. Playing with 5 defensemen instead of 6 hurt them in the end.
@JesseGranger_ Anderson did NOT have that puck covered, everyone has eyes… but regardless VGK blew it. Rasmus Anderson started the failure for the 1st goal, then gets caught for the 2nd too. Hoping VGK can settle down
@JesseGranger_ But the whistle had blown… play was dead. You can interfere with the goalie after the play is dead? No. That would imply you can score a goal after the whistle. It’s a terrible nonsensical call.
