Trash, recycling, and food waste collections continue throughout the District. If your trash or recycling is not collected on your scheduled day, please leave your bins out, as missed collections will be prioritized the following day. If materials have not been collected within two days, residents should report the issue to 311.

@SouthwestAir @SouthwestAir Thanks for the response. Under what circumstances should 3 tickets of the same fare type, including early bird check in, purchased on the same reservation be 60 spots apart?

There has been a lot of focus on the District’s budget due to an effort in Congress to force the District to cut 1 billion dollars in spending 6 months into the fiscal year. Budgets can be complicated, so to combat confusion I’d like to introduce “The District Budget, 101 pt 1”.

Congressional House Republicans voted today to cut our local budget by over $1 billion – money that is locally generated, not federal dollars that will not lead to any savings. This will have a devastating impact on our city — police, fire and EMS, teachers, and other essential government services. Our police department is down 700 officers. If the Continuing Resolution in its current version passes in the Senate, our law enforcement will be even more strained by a major reduction in personnel, putting the safety of all District residents and visitors at risk. This move would take us backwards and is dangerous. The CR now heads to the Senate, and we are urging all U.S. Senators to include the language that was already included in the prior two CRs, authorizing the District to spend its locally generated revenue at FY25 levels.

It is nonsensical. The effect of what they’re trying to do would be to cut back spending by police... as well as agencies that deal with the cleanliness of the city, public education and so forth. They would realize no savings from this, because these are not federal dollars

A sign of the current environment perhaps: a decent amount of the criticism of the recent show on the Holocaust comes from actual Nazi types (😳) or people who say that I've not given "both sides of the issue". We live in interesting times.
