Starting Ao Ashi Futbol/soccer is a sacred sport to me like I’ve cheered for FC Barcelona since I was born. I’ve been avoiding it in manga because I wasn’t sure anyone could do it justice but I’ve heard great things about this. Let’s see if it changes my life

Having already read Blue Lock. I will say I think the whole egotist idea is a kind of “unhealthy” way of coping with losing while having faith in somebody else. The thought that “only you can win the game and putting that belief in anybody else is just too risky” #bltwt

@haykal2498 Yep, I agree. Their really long matches don’t cut it for me. But for other sports matches I want their matches to be even longer. Ik every manga is cliche and has their repetitions. But BL’s is just too glaring for me at times

If Blue Lock had similar animation to Knb or Haikyu, there would be no discussion. Never seen art style so peak in a sports manga. Blue Lock is also ONLY football, no school, no romance, no bs, just a bunch of hungry egoists. Best sports animanga out of the four.

@V_Soulknight I get you I get you. You can say their expectations aren’t unhealthy because that’s what the best of the best would be able to do. It’s a dilemma cause you kinda “need” that thought process to strive to be better but if not handled correctly you can crash and burn bad imo

@mdickzi Not commit the same mistakes repeatedly as an novice would and so, a novice will strive to embody the standards of a master. The margin of error is so small that it creates such inhumane standards and practices. It isn't that they become unhealthy, rather they are expected to be.

@azekk_x And the stuff I added does add to character building in sports. Just look at KnB, Haikyuu, Hajime no Ippo, Slam Dunk, Eyeshield 21, BeBlues, DAYS, etc. they all have focuses outside of just their sports field and it builds their characters and immerses their readers more

@mdickzi Things u listed add nothing to character building in sport stories, you just might be the fan of slice of life not sport mangan sand it’s okay, in terms of pure sport blue lock is by far the best.
If u like toddler level emotional stories ao ashi will be the one for you

@Muneer789386 @mdickzi Blue Lock is a psychological manga who use football as a medium, but more than half the fanbase think it’s the opposite. Blue Lock best chapter are when there is no ball in sight

@Maestro14th If you’re deep into football then yea other manga are more “accurate” like AoAshi, BeBlues or DAYS. But I think Blue Lock has some accuracy. I think they just ignore some parts of football to make a more compelling story for readers. It clearly works tho😭gotta give it to em

anyone that follow real football every week, watching their team every season knows, Blue Lock is the least "football" football manga out there.
it feels like if someone who barely knew football make a football manga.

@Zarabart53 I think strikers think like that too, I didn’t disagree that’s what some strikers do. I’m just saying it’s an unhealthy way to go about thinking. Can put unnecessary pressure on yourself, stop relying on teammates, start playing solo etc. Which won’t make you a good st imo

@FAshor86067 Togashi’s move from CB to an Holding Striker role as well was also a great way to give him more time and to see him display his skills. He can play good while on offense and defense. He’s a double threat. I enjoyed that reveal

@FAshor86067 1 that sticks out to me is definitely when he starts trusting his Esperion teammates that came up from Junior Youth. That whole arc where they were clashing and then they reconciled their differences was so well done to me
