They tried to make the right turn during the advanced walk signal as if that made it less illegal (imo the most risky time to turn right on a red). They couldn't bother to wait the extra 10 seconds until the light turned green.

@meanderingemu @BikeMayorHfx The major issue with bike boxes is that many motorists in Halifax do not understand how they work. I typically use the left turning lane instead, but I used the bike box at Bell and Sackville a few weeks ago and a motorist turning right on a red starting honking at me to move.
