In our new #cryoFIB #cryoET preprint we imaged actin filaments in very fast moving Plasmodium falciparum sporozoites. We shed some light on the mechanism of gliding motility and find unexpectedly long and large actin bundles in the cytoplasm and nucleus! biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Sad to say goodbye to all of my brilliant colleagues at the @fidocklab after finishing up my first postdoc, but really excited to start working with @ProfJakeBaum at UNSW!

Important article just out in @NEJM describing increasing numbers of #malaria parasites with resistance to first-line drugs in Eritrea. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10… These and our findings in Ethiopia are cause for concern in the Horn of Africa. nature.com/articles/s4156…

Our new paper with Didier Menard's group (and other brilliant collaborators) shows the concerning emergence of partial artemisinin resistance in Eritrea, along with deletions of hrp2 and hrp3.

Really happy to have this work published. It's been great working with @mbogyo and @ChemBio_John on this project.
