Egypt signed peace with Israel in 1979, got Sinai back, and stopped the war. Decades later, Egypt secured its territory & its peopleโs safety, but didnโt become politically or culturally aligned with Israel. Itโs that simple.

The proposed peace deal with Lebanon doesn't even offer Lebanon peace. It offers Lebanon the "right" to have a foreign country indefinitely occupy the country and cleanse it of a Shia presence. For Lebanon to even entertain something like that isn't just bad--it's treasonous.
