Calvin Russell also discussed his basketball future and the tempest-in-a-teapot caused by his appearance at practice this week.

WR Calvin Russell III spoke today for the first time since tearing his Achilles last week in practice. He said it was a full tear. Fran Brown asked him if he wanted to sit out this season "No, I didn't come here to sit out. I want to play football." Russell maintains he could be back in late Oct/early November. He also said he still plans on playing basketball at SU, and talked to Gerry McNamara in his office today
