Pre 2021, Max Verstappen had only 10 wins and he was enjoying his races unbothered showing great wheel to wheel and waiting for his moments in life.
2021-2025, Max had 13 Sprint wins 61 wins and yet he spoke viciously about this year regs. He said data was terrible and here we are.
So don't let anyone lie to you Max wants to retire because he's not winning. He was there before and didn't say he's quiting. Anyone says it, that's some incredible BS

If Max does leave F1 and the reason behind it is the 2026 cars then that's a black eye for the sport in every aspect,
Will the sport survive and move on? Ofcourse it would,
Will it impact the sport in the short term? Significantly!
It's not just the commercial and engagement side of Max which makes him a major star and the one with mainstream appeal,
It's also the fact that he has been the benchmark in F1 in this decade,
If the best talent on the grid thinks that the sport is not worth the effort, you lose credibility
Hope the custodians of the sport bite the bullet and bring significant changes to these regs... because inaction will have consequences.
