The United States Supreme Court upholding a federal ban of “ghost gun” kits is great news. Ghost guns have no place in our society already awash in guns, and Illinois has been a leader in banning these untraceable weapons. @RepKamBuckner

The start of March also means the start of Women’s History Month, where we take time to honor the achievements and contributions of the women who inspire us at home and around the world. The advocates, history makers, and boundary-breakers who have paved the way for a brighter future.

Chaos on the House Floor this evening as Republicans flip-flop on voting on their budget that would gut Medicaid. This should be an easy vote. I joined every House Democrat to vote NO on their disgraceful budget. Here is my statement on this evening's vote.

The American people want Congress to take concrete steps to make their lives at least a little bit easier – but Republicans are trying to do exactly the opposite. Democrats’ priorities are: ☑️lowering costs for families ☑️giving more people access to affordable healthcare ☑️actually improving people’s lives Because that’s what your family, neighbors, and community deserve.

Happy Valentine's Day, folks! This year’s Valentines for Vets campaign was a great success. We collected more than 1,000 heartfelt cards from our community—including students, townships, libraries, and kind individuals who wanted to share their gratitude. So happy I could personally deliver these valentines to veterans at Lovell Federal Health Care Center, joined by Dr. Buckley, Director of Lovell, and my friend Kenny List. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped us show our veterans that their service and sacrifices are never forgotten.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Wishing you a day filled with warmth and joy. Today is a wonderful reminder to show appreciation for the people who make a difference in our lives. Whether it’s family, friends, or neighbors, a small gesture of kindness can go a long way.

Women deserve more than flowers and candy for Valentine’s Day. We deserve the right to make our own healthcare decisions, no matter what state we live in.

On Super Bowl Sunday, more than 100 people stopped by our Lake County Democrats open houses. We heard from folks in offices in Waukegan, Highland Park, and Grayslake. There’s a lot of energy and it was great to to speak with people looking to get more involved with the Democrats.

Elon Musk & his minions should be nowhere near your private, personal social security info. Yet, after the invasion of your privacy last week, their sights are set on a new target: the Social Security Administration. In Trump's America, an unelected billionaire like Elon Musk gets to wield unchecked power, cut off aid from those who need it the most, then fire anyone who stands up for what's right—or what's legal. Trump and Musk aren't making America great. They're making it authoritarian.

Hate has no home in Illinois. I can’t say the same for the White House.

It was great seeing so many Democratic friends right here in Moraine Township. The meal and conversation made for a full evening with energized Democrats.
