@mathsjem Thanks for this. I’ve watched most of it so far and it’s ace. I will watch the rest later. There is a lot to like there but I particularly like the sequencing aspect and your favouring of derivation over memorisation 👍

Very new to the online maths community but would anyone have any advice on teaching ‘exact trig values’ for the first time (and it’s an observed lesson 😬)? @mathsjem @mrbartonmaths @360maths @danicquinn @MrMathsTeacher

@mrdhilder @mathsjem @mrbartonmaths @360maths @MrMathsTeacher One thing I learned from experience is to be really clear about the key values. They feel obvious to us, but not to the pupils (0, 30, 45, 60, 90). So, first be clear that those are the most helpful values to know, before deriving with them. Gives a clearer goal for them.

@danicquinn @mathsjem @mrbartonmaths @360maths @MrMathsTeacher Thanks for replying! 😀Yes so it’s up to me and fairly open but it will be the first time for most of the Y11 class so I want to do the derivation approach as a way to recall them and yes definitely to apply in a non-calc setting.
