Someone has submitted footage of what happened. Look at how a gang of foreigners just randomly begin hitting and punching me. This was the first incident. After that, I tried to retrieve my things, and they tried to attack me a second time. Then the police arrived.

For any parents saying that this ban is ridiculous and kids need social media to connect and learn..and that’s it’s up to parents to police what their kids are doing…. Do you know every single person your child is connected with online? Have u met them. Most likely no. Also whatever their profile pic looks like, does not necessarily reflect who’s behind it. Your daughter may be sharing selfies in her new bikini to her ‘absolute new bestie on Instagram’ who likes all the same stuff she does… And it’s actually 50 year old Derek who is currently playing with himself over said picture. This statement can be equally applied to young boys. Just let that thought sink in… Is it really worth that risk to their safety, mental health, and physical health, Just to be able to ‘find new music’ or research homework. 🤷‍♀️ There are better ways to learn than social media. Kids have never been at more risk, under more pressure and had more mental health problems than recent years SINCE social media rolled out. Yes it has some benefits but the negatives FAR outweigh that. This is not the panacea for sure but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.

Dear Lush (cc Chelmsford City Council), As a woman who had half a breast removed last year due to cancer, I am writing to raise my concerns about your “Proud of My Stripes” window display. I am also, on behalf of other women who have experienced breast cancer, respectfully requesting its removal. Because mastectomies are not a fashion statement, an identity marker or something to be celebrated. They are something women undergo because they are ill, because they are frightened, because they are trying to stay alive. Around 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Many will undergo surgery - a mastectomy, lumpectomy or other procedure. Others choose preventive mastectomies because they carry a high-risk BRCA gene mutation. If a woman chooses to have her breasts removed to affirm a gender identity, that is her personal choice. I honestly don’t know the number of women who have elective mastectomies for this reason. What I do know is that it is a tiny number compared with those for whom breast surgery is medically necessary and not something to be celebrated. I think I speak for many women who have experienced breast cancer - and for their families - when I say this: Breast removal surgery is not something I regard as cute, playful or empowering. Nor is it something I believe retailers should be celebrating. For that reason, I am requesting that the display be removed and that @ChelmsCouncil apologise for promoting it on social media.
