We are horrified by the news that CCAR member Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker is involved in a standoff in his synagogue. We pray for his safety, his synagogue’s, and the well-being of all involved. We’re grateful to the members of law enforcement dedicated to a peaceful resolution.

@jahimes Yes, once the buds open the sugars in the sap turn to starch and the sap takes on a "buddy" flavor, which is quite unpleasant. My first year, I had to throw away 6 bottles of syrup because the sap had gone buddy. You can taste it faintly in the sap when it comes from the tree.

Here of course is where it all starts. Big old sugar maple tapped with a metal spile. Dripping slowly now, but as the temp goes to 40 later it will start cranking.

Pelosi and McConnell need to investigate why:
(1) the Capitol was so poorly prepared for today’s attack,
(2) why police were taking selfies with domestic terrorists, &
(3) why those guilty of insurrection were escorted out the front door instead of being handcuffed and arrested.
