The reason we never replicated “The Sopranos” is bc people didn’t want what it was. People wanted an ongoing storyline. “The Sopranos” was basically a series called “Mafialand” where each episode was a short story about the goings on of people in the Mafialand universe

some people think night shift or different seasons is the move but in my experience it is literally impossible to get a casual reader to read a book of short stories
