It’s better that your crew work at night which is when most people are home and need to sleep (in the freezing cold). On the contrary if your crew is only fixing during the day, most of us are out of the house at work or school.

We have received a large number of comments of people from the West Island that have the feeling they have ben forgotten or left out of the outage restoration efforts. We want to reassure you that we are working on restoring service everywhere, including the West Island. We are sorry if you are still without power. We understand that, after such a long time, you might feel like you have been left out or forgotten, but we can assure you it is not the case. The West Island was hit particularly hard by the ice storm outages. One of the main reasons is the large number of mature trees in the sector that have had branches break and fall on the power lines. Also, access to the grid was initially a bit more difficult in that area with a lot of powerlines passing behind homes. At the peak of the #outage, there were around 486,700 customers without power in the West Island. There are now around 139,000. We have restored power to around 71% of affected customers in the West Island while the average for all of Montreal is 72%. We will keep working until every customer gets their power back, on the West Island and everywhere else. Thank you for your patience.

Nos équipes sont toujours au travail pour rétablir le service aux clients touchés par les #pannes d'électricité. Nous avons pu rebrancher plus de 800 000 clients dans les premières 48h. Comme le rétablissement de service s'effectue d'abord en travaillant sur les pannes qui permettent de rebrancher un plus grand nombre de client à la fois, il était possible au départ de rétablir le service à plus de clients rapidement. De plus en plus, nous sommes appelés à travailler sur des pannes qui affectent un plus petit nombre de clients, ce qui explique que la progression puisse sembler moins rapide. Le travail au terrain ne ralentit pourtant pas, notamment avec l'aide que nous recevons d'entrepreneurs privés habilités à travailler avec nous, par exemple en maîtrise de la végétation, puisque le gros du travail est lié à la végétation et non à de la reconstruction de réseau. Nous continuons aussi à déplacer des équipes dans les régions les plus touchées à fur et à mesure que les clients retrouvent l'électricité dans les autres régions. Notre objectif est d'atteindre le 1 million de clients rebranchés d’ici la fin du week-end, dimanche soir. Nous sommes conscients que la situation est difficile et que plusieurs sont maintenant en panne depuis une longue période. Soyez assurés que nous mettons tout en œuvre pour rétablir le service dans les plus brefs délais. Merci de votre patience.
