Thirty-eight years ago today, an Iranian mine tore a hole in the hull of the USS Samuel B. Roberts. The blast broke the frigate's keel, flooded its engineroom, and lit fires on several decks. Only the well-trained crew saved it.

Unescorted access has never been an issue in any other administration including President Trump’s first term but now all of a sudden it’s a national security issue and the security of the Pentagon campus is apparently under threat.

STATEMENT: The Court granted the Department's request for a fourteen-day administrative stay while the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals considers the Department's appeal. The Department will seek an emergency stay from the D.C. Circuit to preserve the security of the Pentagon during the pendency of the appeal. Journalists do not have unescorted access to the building but will continue to have press credentials and access to all press briefings, press conferences, and interviews.

@navybook If I remember along with that well trained crew didn't prior mission assessment and planning contribute greatly to the ships survival?
Didn't they taken aboard a significant amount to damage control equipment, well above typical loadout, prior to sailing?

The Pentagon Press Association, in its amicus brief to the court today, notes that thousands of workers without security clearances - from baristas to bakers - walk the unclassified hallways of the Pentagon. Why single out journalists who only walk in those unclassified spaces and move them out of the building?

President Trump just directed the entire federal government to stop using @AnthropicAI. @USGSA and @FASCommissioner immediately canceled the company's OneGov deal & removed the company from its Multiple Award Schedule and USAI dot gov.
What's next? Expect a six-month phase-out period, according to the president, and a lot of jockeying in industry to fill the AI void Anthropic's apparent ban will open up.
