4/ i remember first playing around with netlogo 10 years ago, and it's still used in research today for a variety of scientific research studying predator-prey dynamics, disease spread, forest fires, traffic flow, diffusion processes and collective decision-making it remains one of the simplest ways to study emergence and macro-scale behavior the environment now includes an extensions API (Python, GIS, Arduino), BehaviorSpace for experiments, and a 3D mode 🔗: netlogo.org og modeling library: ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/models/

@jlarrosa The desktop version of NetLogo 7 should be a bit faster than 6.4. For Macs with Apple Silicon chips, it could be much faster.

Short explanation: Sound waves → make plate vibrate → sand jumps around. At certain points, the sine waves cancel out → sand stops there In the model, you can set "nodes" where there is no vibration. For a real plate, these depend on the shape. e.g.: youtube.com/shorts/jSefO-C…
