@MattMajkrzak Thanks coach for taking the time to answer this former beat writer's question. That's a good era of NIU basketball as well - Todd Peterson, James Hughes, Cory Sims and a MAC West division title. I admit I had some fun with that team in a March Madness 06 dynasty.

@ngerts Went 30 years. Got kicked off, forced me to retire. 2k6. Raymond Felton on cover. First best player was a bald 6’9 SF. Couple national titles, but not enough. Hopefully real life can mirror that. 😂

I'm disappointed no one asked him what 2K his NIU dynasty was on and how many seasons deep it went. 2K3? 2K4? The final one - 2K8? I'm curious to see what team he started with, quiz him on the players from that squad.

Per my sources: it brings me happiness to report that My Friend and our @NMUMensBBALL Coach @MattMajkrzak has been offered, and will take the Northern Illinois University Men’s Head Basketball Job. Coach Majkrzak finishes his career at @NorthernMichU 136-73 including going 97-36 over the past 4 seasons, which Includes 4 straight GLIAC Championships (2 Conference, 2 Tournaments) and a Program record of 28 wins this season, along with 4 straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. An official announcement could come as soon as today @GoHuskiesMBB (ok that part is pretty weird) Personal note, I will miss my friend and my coach.

Majkrzak's Northern Michigan team starts play in the D2 NCAA Tournament tomorrow against Rockhurst, so if he accepts, an official announcement likely won't happen until the Wildcats are finished.

I don't see any college QBs rushing for 1,800+ yards and throwing for 3,000 yards in a season now (let alone in b2b seasons). He was just an absolute beast and stayed healthy.
