@jegaevi This is such a good way to look at it. Even 5 books from outside our usual reading comfort zone can open a completely new world. I need to do this too. Any country or author you’re thinking of starting with?

I want to read more widely. It's such a shame that the majority of what I read was written in either English, French, Japanese, or Russian. I read at least 50 books a year. Why can't five of these books be from other countries? There's so much to discover.

@Swetasony7 I stop forcing myself for a bit. Maybe music, a walk, or just writing one tiny line. Most of the time, motivation comes back after I start small again.

What do u do when you feel demotivated??

Ahhh the magic of putting ink on a blank page... I started writing a new novel today! Yay me 🥰

@manow_co Honestly, writing my novel. Not for likes, not for numbers. Just that feeling of building a world chapter by chapter and watching the characters slowly become real.

Every reader has at least one book they’ve been meaning to read for so long that it’s becoming embarrassing.

@ria_cheal This is honestly the dream. Reading a favorite book is already special, but reading it with someone who understands why it matters to you? That’s a different kind of happiness.

Find someone who will read your favorite books with you.

@klhicks912 I needed this reminder. Bad pages still count. Sometimes they are just the doorway to the better ones.

Sometimes, to get unstuck, you need to write something terrible. This could be brainstorming. It could be a short story. Or maybe you will write something wonderful.

@EllieJayWrites That still sounds like a writer’s version of a break But honestly, no events and just being with the work itself must feel so peaceful.

First weekend in a long time with no author events to attend and while I love events, I'm very much enjoying a break. If you can call editing one manuscript while working on another a break.

I will never love anything or anyone like I love the feeling of starting a new series.

I created an entire antagonist backstory the reader may never fully see. Spent four hours on it. Zero regrets.

I’m not allowing myself any anthology work until I have 5 new chapters written in this YA thriller, so I‘m kicking off the first day of summer break laser-focused on that! Let’s go!

@WhatEmsReadingX That reading slump fear is so real maybe start with a comfort book or a short chapter, no pressure. The mood usually comes back when we stop forcing it.
